When folks dismiss Nucks advice wrt safety, it just gets my polar bear nickers in a twist. By what you have described and Nucks prognosis it does seem you have an intermittent short eg the center post is not aligned. A battery = less then a carton of cigarettes. I just wish folks would not be so stingy when it comes to safety. TOSS IT.

You did the right thing posting about it. You received solid advice. Now do something about it. Jack would replace that battery in a heart beat. just sayin... But Rainbowvapers??? Let it be a lesson learned and please do not become a casualty of frugality.

+100 .. More than agreed, I would suggest you listen to Nuck and Switched's words here guys. These batteries are not to be torn apart or played with and need to be properly disposed of if malfunctioning in this way.

When a charge is applied to the battery, it opens the circuit to accept the charge. In effect doing the same thing as pressing the button.

In this condition would you consider taping the button down? Well, putting it on charge is the same as doing that.

Plus you now risk shorting out the charger!

Please stop before you get hurt.

What Can_supplier said, lelly. Seriously! We want you to be safe.
... If it's from the other place...cut your losses, do as Can_supplier said, and buy a Mega eGo or two from Jack for future use.

*hugs* Praying for you, hope all will be well!

A battery that heats up like that is dangerous - I would put it down and leave it alone.

Thank you all for your concern. I am still alive, lol. The battery is off the charger and I will find it a new home at a recycling center! I didn't mean to dismiss advice, and I meant no disrespect, but I did get some tips on how it may be fixed that I thought I would try out before tossing it. I am the first to admit I am cheap, but I agree that it is not worth risking my health over and I guess I didn't realize the dangers in tinkering until reading all of your responses!! Thanks for saving me, lol.

U R Welcome. My tone indicated the seriousness of the dilemma. Do you really want to tinker with something the Chinese built LOL.
