Yeah mine got very very hot as well, but I tracked it down to a short in one of my 510-510 adapters because I tightened down the bottom tube too tight and it tore the silicone sleeve around te center pin of the adapter.
Ok, this issue has plagued my SSGGTS for weeks now and I've been trying to figure out what it is. Today I pulled the bottom cap and noticed several blackened areas that must be corroded. You can actually feel them with a fingernail. I took some fine sandpaper and got rid of the corrosion and now my SSGGTS hits every time I press the button and the button no longer heats up when I'm chain vaping. Here is a quick pic I took of what I had found.
Yep, I've noticed that, too. If I vape a lot at 6V (which I usually do) I tend to see that on both the battery post and the button, but it polishes off of both fairly easily with a Cape Cod cloth. That's part of my regular cleaning routine
