Test the atty if you have a meter, if it's shorted change the atty.

Sounds like a short to me as well.

I'd do that....change the atty and see if the problem goes away. If it does, it was the atty. If it persists, I'd put a meter on the GGTS atty connection and then work my way back checking for a short along the way.

Are you using it with the iAtty at a really low ohm? if yes then be careful because the lower the ohm the greater demand on the batteries, for example 3.7 battery (4.2v fresh off the charger) and 1.2ohm = 3.5amps way too much for smaller cr123's unless they are high drain, if this is the case try it with an 18650 battery as these can handle the amp draw.

if this isn't the case try changing your atomiser, sounds like it is shorting out

I nuked 2 battery springs today, had done noalox between 1st and 2nd nuke, replaced new new 306 atty (drip tip), smoking like hell out the rear end 3.7 battery . Been using without dramas but battery spring melting in my face. Have I missed anything?

You have a bad short somewhere. If you were seeing smoke out the bottom of the GGTS, your battery vented. THROW THAT BATT AWAY NOW!

Time to tear it all apart and find out where your short is. Don't be afraid to bring up the wiki and check out videos.

I've had this hot button problem and its been a weak spring in the switch.
I'm not perfect, I've gotten my GG hot quite a few times by accident or from being careless, it does get very hot. Once it gets to hot the switch spring can go flat, once it loses its ability to do its thing, the switch gets hot very quickly with out reason. I replace the spring with one from an ink pen, cut it down (usually in half) and the switch returns to good performance again.
