hi all i got a strange problem with ggts i gold plated the bottom spring and now the button gets hot i tried it with out the spring and it works perfectly i cannot think why this should happen any ideas??

Think you have a buildup problem, possibly on your spring. Take the spring and give it a good scrub with isopropyl alcohol and clean the switch pin up too

Thanks that was the problem the spring and button was black I soaked it in alcohol for half hour now it works great thanks again

Hi yes it is .there seems to be more vapour and throat hit not sure why that happens maybe less resistance

I need to buy that gold plating kit I've been looking at... it's a little pricey but well worth it in the long run.

I was looking to buy gold plated copper wire and make some springs...
There is and pure gold wires too but I think gold plated copper might be better?!
Maybe somebody can give me some advice?

I got the gold brush plating kit from ebay 60 pound dead easy to use
