Yeah I'm not sure about 26650 75W dna devices, not sure if I really need one. To me its sort of a no mans land. You can get 75W single 18650 battery mods, which are smaller and easier to pocket.

After that you have dual 18650 mods that fire up to 120+ (realistically). Then you have you triple 18650 mods (RX200), then you have your DNA200 lipos. What is the point of a 75W 26650? I guess you get an extra ~1000mah battery life, but is it worth it?

It will be great for people wanting to get into a good TC mod for not too much cash and be able to swap batteries as needed. I'll pass on them as I already have a few 200's but it would "fit" my vaping wattage. I'd probably adapt it for 18650 as I have no 26650 cells and too many 18650's.

Size is a definite advantage. Just no way to make a two- or three-battery mod, or a lipo one with decent battery life, as small as a single battery. I'd definitely prefer an 18650 configuration though.

IMO its a slight advantage...these new mods coming out running dual 18650s are almost the size of the batteries themselves (ie: Sigelei 213), so unless these guys start shrinking the 26650 mods closer to the size of the batteries themselves I don't really see these selling since most vape enthusiasts, those who purchase mods on a regular basis should already have an arsenal of 18650 batteries (as you mentioned) and would see it as an extra cost purchasing 26650 spares.

Also the 26650s don't seem to be as standardized when it comes to size and from what I've gathered no Big 3 (4 if you include panasonic).

I agree. Also, 18650s are generally better and you can trust the cdr of non-rewrapped batteries.

Hello all,

Quick question... I FINALLY got my 18650 battery option for the HotCig, and it work great. One thing though, when I swap from the original 900mag LIPO to the 18650, the DX200 will NOT turn on. I have to plug it into the computer and use Escribe to change the battery type.... I thought I could just swap them out, AND if I didn't update the battery type the meter would be off??? I can go from the 18650 to the 900mah battery without updating Escribe though....Still waiting on the 1300mah option... I bought both about 3 weeks ago and the code "MAP' still worked for the discount!

Regardless you should still update the battery curves whenever you swap attachments. Once I had my dual 18650 I just kept it on and won't even bother with the original lipo pack.

The reason that is happening is because with the 900mah 3s Lipo pack it's 3 batteries in series (11.1v) and with the 2 x 18650 pack it's 2 in series (7.4v). You have to tell the mod how many batteries because the cutoff voltage is different depending on the configuration.

If you have the mod set up for 3 batteries in series and run it with 2, the mod thinks the 3s pack needs to be charged. Even fully charged 2 in series is only 8.4v which is under the voltage cutoff for 3 batteries in series (that would be less than 3v per cell). It's to stop you from over-discharging your 3s lipo pack (safety). I hope that makes sense.

Cheers,
Steve

It's too bad the they'll eventually dry up or at least overseas. Such an under-rated/under the radar DNA200 that offered a dual 18650 option for quite sometime now. Still dig mine after all this time and despite the added length, a good and small mod.
I agree with you, I think we were some of the first to get the 2 x 18650 battery compartment. Since getting it, I've never put the Lipo back on. That being said, it does make it wider and heavier (because of the 18650's). It's also not the most ergonomic mod I own.

I've recently picked up a couple of Hcigar VT133's that also run on 2 x 18650's and I really like them. If I get a chance, I'll take a picture of both for comparison. Don't get me wrong the DX200 has served me well, but I like the VT133 a lot better (I'm only comparing them when both are using 18650"s), it just feels better in hand to me.

PS The VY133 can only be run with 2 x 18650, while the DX200 can be run off Lipos as well. Might put mine back on now that I have other options that can use 2 x 18650

Cheers,
Steve

I'd be interested in seeing those comparison pictures. I was looking at the VT133, quite a deal at $88.00....

You need to update the battery settings in escribe every time you switch from lipo packs to 18650s.

You don't need to do this if you were only swapping out the 900mah with the 1300mah (or was it 1100)

Here you go. These aren't the greatest pictures I've ever taken but should suffice for a size comparison.

Thank you very much, I appreciate the pictures, and they are more than fine to give me an idea of the size comparison!
