I'm looking to buy the DX200 and was wondering if I would run into any trouble when getting it. A lot of the problems I hear have to do with the hotfire battery and it being plugged into the device before shipping. Now with the FullyMax batteries and smarter packaging I shoudln't run into any problems, right?
That is correct. I have one of the very early ones. I had the problem of my 3s Lipo coming in discharged. I was actually able to bring it back to life by using recovery charging via Escribe. The problem wasn't the battery, it was that there was a bug in the early version of Escribe that has long since been corrected. It allowed the battery to be discharged while the mod wasn't in use. I've since bought quite a few different DNA200 mods and haven't had a repeat of that problem (they were also not using that version of Escribe).

PS I updated Escribe as soon as I got it and it never drained the battery again, no matter how long it sat.

Cheers,
Steve

You shouldn't. I purchased 2 (sold 1 later) and the batteries were not attached to the mods when they arrived in the original packaging.

Also evolve did a firmware update to address the battery issue. AFAIK I don't think the DX200 uses fullymax lipos but I could be wrong.

Correct, they no longer ship the battery connected, it's a different battery(I'm not sure if it's the Fullymax), and if I remember correctly the issue was caused by a bug in the Evolve firmware that caused the battery to drain while the unit was in sleep mode...

That is how I understand it, just the early ones that had the early firmware (buggy) had the problem. A pretty nice mod for not too much $$

So I mentioned on the other forum that the only thing holding me back on the Hcigar VT133 was the battery sled but it seems like no one has issues with that. I really love the form factor of the DX200 but am unsure about the battery life of the 900 mAh (don't like how square the 18650 sled makes the mod). Could you comment on how long the DX200 lasts for you with the 900 mAh?

Also, between the Hotcig DX200 and Hcigar VT133 which one would you choose and for what reasons?

Well that's a tough one but I'll give it a shot. The 900mah battery lasts me about a half to 3/4 of a day. It really depends on how much you vape and to an extent at what power. I'll try to come at it another way. A 900mah 3s Lipo is basically 3 x 900mah batteries in series. So it would be roughly equivalent to a 2700mah 18650. I say roughly because I believe you would get a touch more out of the 3s Lipo (it's roughly equivalent to a single LG HG2).

Ok as to which one I'd get out of the DX200 or VT133. At this point I'd get the VT133 because I'm using them both in the 2 x 18650 mode. The VT133 is just more comfortable in hand when using it that way. The reason I was using the DX200 in the 18650 format is because I have other 3s Lipo mods that I use. I have 2 Lavaboxes and 2 VT200's. I also have the DNA200 Reuleaux (3 x 18650).

As to which one you would prefer that depends on you. If you want it to be able to use a 3s Lipo or 18650's then the DX200 would fit the bill (or the Lost Vape Duo). If you think you will be using it in 2 x 18650 mode, then I'd definitely get the VT133 (it's less expensive and more comfortable in hand for me). I posted a picture of the 2 of them side by side in 18650 mode a page or 2 back iirc. Hope that helps!

Cheers,
Steve

I think mooch did a comparison test b/t 900 3s fully max, LG HG2 and Samsung 30Q (or was it 25R) and the fully max came out top in terms of Wh, least amount of sag as the battery loses charge.

The DX also has a 1300mah lipo pack along with the 2 x 18650 option. Just be aware that if you want to switch b/t lipo and 18650 you will need to go into escribe each time to change the battery setting.

900 lipo pack actually lasts me quite a while and I chain vape. I'm usually around the 40-50W range and find the 900 lipos to last me at least 1/2 day or around 12-15mls of juice.

I prefer the aesthetics of the DX over the VT, however, I do not have a VT to comment on performance or build quality.

Wow, where?
You can find it here...
Make The Switch | Ecig.com

Note, when I bought mine, even though they called it the kit, they did not include the RC charger for the battery. So, IF you buy extra 900mAh batteries, and at $19.95 you should, get the charger for the extra $7.99. It isn't the old one pictured, I received the newer version 2 of the charger... a bit better...

I have 2, older version with stainless buttons, and newer with black buttons... They addressed the issue of the battery packs attached being a bit loose, they are now using more magnets, and it works well! The new magnets are in the center of the mod, and battery packs... You can see them on the 18650 pack, but underneath labels of the mod, and other packs....It now also has all the mod parameters pre-loaded on the device, which the original didn't....

Build quality is good, and it's a DNA200 for $55.00! I'm not sure how you can go wrong with buying it from ecig.com....

Damn that's a steal, I'll have to pass on the extra battery. Too much spent recently!

Bah, who am I kidding an extra lipo pack in the cart. Been meaning to flip back over to the 900mAh so this works out. That way I have extra chocolates for the Q class I'm still waiting on from Breazy.

The DX200 wasn't that bad size wise. Little clunky. They could have rounded the edges a bit more and made the plastic dividers at the battery joint thinner to save space at the joint. Mod could have been 48mm wide that way and been one of the top sellers.

Guess that's why they have the DR200 now.

So which ones does ecig have? The older stainless buttons or the newer black buttons? The pics show it is the newer one. Is that so, if you know?
