There is an old FA thread that is now closed. I've read almost the entire thing. A poster named HeadInClouds was one of the main contributors and he once posted in that thread that any and all of his recipes could be re-posted anywhere, giving him credit or not. I hope the following helps anyone wanting to dabble in Flavour Art. These are all HIC's recipes that looked interesting to me.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Milkshake
Acetyl Pyrazine - TFA 1.5%
Caramel (FA) 1%
Vienna Cream (FA) 1%
Cocoa (FA) 1%
Chocolate (FA) 1%
Hazelnut (FA) .5%

Swiss Bliss FA+TFA

Chocolate (FA) 2%
Acetyl Pyrazine (TFA) 1.5-2%

GERMAN CHOCOLATE HAZE (Cake)
1% Coffee Espresso (or 0.5% if you just want the German chocolate flavor)
1% Cocoa
1% Coconut
1% Fresh Cream
0.5% Hazelnut
0.5% Jamaican Rum

Van Cream Cinn Straws FA
Vanilla Classic (FA) 1.5%
Vienna Cream (FA) 1.5%
Meringue (FA) 1.5%
Cinnamon Ceylon (FA) 1.25%
Catalan Cream (FA) .75%
Peppermint (FA) .75%
Shake 'n vape! You'll taste very sweet, mildly spicy, cinnamon hard candy with frosting-like, cool vanilla cream filling.

Cafe Amaretto FA
Expresso (FA) 1%
Marzipan (FA) 1%
Almond (FA) 1%
Caramel (FA) 1%
Vanilla Bourbon (FA) 1%
Fresh Cream (FA) 1%
Brandy (FA) 1%

GRAND MARNIER MOUSSE
2% FA Brandy
2% FA Custard
1.5% FA Orange
1.5% FA Bergamot
0.5% FA Fresh Cream
Brandy is very boozy at first and mellows quickly. You can heat steep it to speed up the process, if you prefer it mellow. I like it best fresh!
would be neat to work up a Grand Marnier on ice cream sort of thing too

HIC's Chocolate Lava Cake FA+TFA
5%
Cocoa (FA) 2%
Cheesecake Graham Crust (TFA) 2%
Cookie (FA) .5%
Brown Sugar - TFA .25%
Vienna Cream (FA) .25%

Creamsicles FA
4.5%
Mandarin (FA) 3%
Vienna Cream (FA) 1.5%
For mild flavor that's easy to vape for hours, use 2% Mandarin and 1% Vienna Cream. Shake 'n vape!

HIC's Cocoa Cookies recipe:
dark chocolate cookies, not overly-sweet - excellent chocolate flavor
5.5%
FA Cocoa 3%
FA Cookie 1%
TFA Brown Sugar Extra 0.5%
FA Caramel 0.5%
FA Vienna Cream 0.5%
Excellent real cocoa flavor and delicious-smelling vapor trail! Vape this at lower power to avoid scorching the cocoa flavor.
For variations, drop the Cocoa to 1.5% or 2% and add other flavorings - like peppermint, orange, peanut butter, walnut, espresso, hazelnut, Irish Cream - and I'm sure you can come up with other ideas. A favorite of mine is Nutella Cookies: Use 1.5% Cocoa and add 0.5% FlavourArt Hazelnut.

Maple Cream Cookies FA+TFA
Vienna Cream (FA) 1%
Maple Syrup (FA) 1%
Cookie (FA) 1%
Brown Sugar Extra (TFA) 1%
(optional 0.5% FlavourArt Espresso)

Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookies FA+TFA
Cocoa (FA) 2%
Peppermint (FA) 1.5%
Cookie (FA) 1%
Brown Sugar (TFA) 1%
Caramel (FA) .5%
Vienna Cream (FA) .5%
just like the real thing - beats every vendor's version out there, so save some $$ and make your own, This is best vaped fresh! Don't let it sit around for weeks or the snappy peppermint will lose its pep.

HIC's Vanilla-Lime Cheesecake TFA+FA
Cheesecake Graham Crust -TFA 2%
Vienna Cream (FA) 1%
Lime Cold Pressed (FA) .5-1%

HIC's Brookside recipe: like Brookside brand's Dark Chocolate Pomegranate candies)
2% FlavourArt Cocoa
2% FlavourArt Pomegranate
1% FlavourArt Vienna Cream
Brookside brand's Dark Chocolate Pomegranate candies are "smooth dark chocolate with a soft, sweet pomegranate fruit center." This is a pretty tasty vape version. Shake 'n vape! Any of FA's dark fruits/berries in any combination will be tasty: Forest Fruit, Blackberry (start low), Pomegranate, Bilberry, Black Currant (start low), Black Cherry, maybe Raspberry if with a stronger one. Those Brookside candies don't last long in this house, but I can always mix juice to vape.

Xtra Smooth Tiramisu Cream FA
Vienna Cream (FA) 1%
Catalan Cream (FA) 1%
Tiramisu (FA) 1%
Fresh Cream (FA) 1%
HIC's Xtra Smooth Tiramisu Cream recipe: creamy, sweet blend of espresso, chocolate, vanilla cake, with hints of cinnamon and caramel. Complex flavors, but simple recipe.

Mandarin Nut Torrone ( Italian nougat candy with orange-nut flavors)

2% FA Torrone
2% FA Nut Mix
1% FA Walnut
2% FA Mandarin

Vanilla Nut Coffee recipe: creamy, mildly sweet, vanilla-nut coffee
Coffee Expresso (FA) 1%
Vienna Cream (FA) 1%
Fresh Cream (FA) 1%
Hazelnut or Nut Mix (FA) .5%
Vanilla Classic (FA) .5% (other FA vanillas will also work)
This is a mild coffee flavor, one I can vape for a long time before needing to switch flavors. It does not need to age or steep, and doesn't change flavor much as it ages.

PEAR-APPLE FRANGIPANE (fruit almond torte for pear fans; very tasty crust flavor here!)
Pear 1.5%
Apple Pie 1%
Almond 1%
Cookie 0.5%
Apricot 0.5%
Catalan Cream 0.5%
Brandy 0.5%
Cinnamon Ceylon 0.5%
This totals 6% total flavoring and is boldly-flavored; it's light and still tasty at half-strength.

HIC's Chocolate Marshmallow Fudge recipe:
2% FA Chocolate
1% FA Cocoa
1% FA Caramel
1% FA Vienna Cream
1% FA Marshmallow
1% TFA Acetyl Pyrazine

HIC's 3 Milky Musketeers recipes: (for sweet-tooth vapers only) 3 Musketeers candy bar crossed with a Milky Way. Don't miss the variations below - not all are candy bars, but they're all very sweet.
2% FA Chocolate
1% FA Marshmallow
1% FA Caramel
1% FA Vienna Cream
0.5% FA Meringue
0.5% FA Torrone
0.5% FA Cocoa
0.25% TFA acetyl pyrazine (available here)

About nougat...European nougat is based on nuts and often honey. American nougat has neither, but may have vanilla, chocolate, and/or malt. Trying to make American nougat with lots of FA Torrone (which is perfect European nougat) or Inawera Nougat (uhm...no) will not work well. Notice a tiny bit of FA Torrone is here. You won't taste the almond from it; it's adding other notes. A couple flavors are combining with Marshmallow to give a little maltiness.

About the ingredients... This needs at least 0.25% Acetyl Pyrazine, but can be pushed to 0.5% for maximum sweetness. It makes several of these FA flavors candy-sweet and smooth, so it can't be omitted! Caramel can be dropped as low as 0.25% (more like 3 Musketeers) or raised as high as 2% (more like Milky Way). The remaining ingredients complete the fluffy American nougat. Don't try them by themselves, though - they need some acetylpyrazine, caramel, and chocolate to become candy-bar-like. Just to answer in advance, no, I don't think you can substitute various other brands' flavorings or skip ingredients and get the same result.

Variations...I hope you'll try the recipe above first, but then - so many possibilities! I have more to try, but these all get my thumbs-up.
All are based on the recipe above.

* Coconut Musketeers: should be a real candy bar, 3 Musketeers with a hint of creamy coconut. Reduce FA Caramel to 0.5%; add 0.5% FA Coconut, up to 1% if you really like coconut.
* Milky Mocha Way: If Milky Way made a mocha version, it would taste like this. Add 0.25% FA Espresso.
* Starbucks Milky Way: Extra sweet caramel-mochaccino... if Starbucks made a Milky Way drink, it would taste like this. Add 0.5% FA Espresso.
* Martians: The regular American Mars Bar with caramel and almonds. Add 0.5% Marzipan. (If you're British, your Mars Bars are more like an American Milky Way...odd but true.)
* Candied Tiramisu: Holy #$#@ that's a tank of sweet delicious! Add 0.5% FA Tiramisu.
* Snickering Musketeers: caution: I reached my sweet-tooth limit right here. Add 3% TFA Peanut Butter OR 2% TFA Peanut Butter plus 2% Capella Peanut Butter. This was suddenly just too sweet for me. I put it away for another day and may try one with less total flavoring. (NOTE: Peanut Butter flavors contain diacetyl/subs, so if you avoid those, avoid this variation!)

(continued)

FIVE-STAR TIRAMONT (creamy vanilla-coffee milkshake, full of complex flavor)
1% FA Tiramisu
0.5% FA Vanilla (any of them work great here; I use Tahiti)
0.5% FA Vienna Cream
0.5% FA Fresh Cream
0.5% FA Maple Syrup
0.5% FA Coconut (also good with Nut Mix)
0.5% FA Jamaican Rum
(optional 0.5% FA Espresso for an extra shot of coffee flavor)
While this is delicious right after mixing, as it ages the flavors meld into one of the smoothest, tastiest milkshakes you'll ever vape. You'll taste creamy vanilla, mild coffee, rummy-maple, little hints of coconut and chocolate. This is one of those that can taste different with each puff, especially as your voltage changes. It sure earns 5 stars from me and my vaping friends. I find it addictive enough to puff on non-stop for hours.

FIVE-STAR FANCY COFFEE
1% FA Vanilla Tahiti
1% FA Fresh Cream
0.5% - 1% FA Tiramisu (your preference)
0.5% FA Irish Cream
0.5% FA Butterscotch
FIVE-STAR MINTY - instead of Butterscotch, use .05-1% FA Peppermint
Don't be afraid to play around and try other flavors instead of Butterscotch, like mixing your own coffee with those Torrani syrups. I like butterscotch or mint, but lots of others would go well.. like Raspberry, Coconut, White Peach, Hazelnut (I'd go light), Walnut+Maple Syrup... Yum!

HIC's Sugary Almond-Apple Tart recipe (rich, sweet almond pie crust... and sweet apples):
4% FA Apple Pie
2% FA Marzipan

HIC's Irish Mocha
1.5% FlavourArt Cocoa
1.5% The Flavor Apprentice Cheesecake Graham Crust (not their plain Cheesecake flavor!)
0.75% FlavourArt Irish Cream
0.75% FlavourArt Chocolate
0.75% FlavourArt Vienna Cream
Mix well. Good right away, better the next day.
This is sweet hot chocolate - a tasty milk chocolate version. You will not taste the cheesecake. It all just blends to create hot chocolate; mild coffee from the Irish Cream comes through to make it mocha.

CHOCOLATE FRANGELICO
1% FA Chocolate
1% FA Cocoa
0.75% FA Hazelnut
0.25% FA Brandy
0.25% FA Vanilla Bourbon

HIC's Heart of Andes recipe: smooth vanilla-mint, like the center of Andes' Mints candy
2% FA Peppermint
1% FA Vanilla Bourbon (Classic will work okay, but Vanilla Bourbon's better here)
1% FA Vienna Cream
1% FA Fresh Cream
1% FA Marshmallow

HIC's Tiramisu Cheesecake recipe: cheesecake with dark chocolate-espresso flavor
3% TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust (must be this, not their plain Cheesecake flavor)
0.5-1% FA Tiramisu
Very simple, very tasty! FA Tiramisu is strong flavoring. Just 0.5% will give you smooth, creamy, dark-chocolate-espresso cheesecake. 1% Tiramisu will produce a bolder, smooth, but less sweet version.

IRISH CREAM MILKSHAKE
0.5% FA Irish Cream
0.5% FA Caramel
0.5% FA Fresh Cream
0.5% FA Vienna Cream

BAILEY'S MINT CHOCOLATE CREAM LIQUEUR - double wow delicious
2% FA Cocoa
1.5% Flavor West Creme de Menthe
1% FA Vienna Cream
1% FA Irish Cream
0.5% FA Caramel
0.5% FA Chocolate
FW's Creme de Menthe beat TFA's version; it's smoother and blends better with these flavors. If you have only TFA, it'll work okay at the same percent.
Mix well and try it fresh. Vaped immediately is delicious, with prominent menthe. After sitting overnight, the menthe, chocolate, and Irish Cream are perfectly balanced, true to the liqueur, mmm.

MOCHA NIPS
2% FA Vienna Cream
1.5% FA Caramel
1% FA Cocoa
0.5% FA Espresso
0.5% FA Meringue

CARIBBEAN COOLER
1% FA Jamaican Rum
1% FA Apricot
1% FA Coconut
0.5% FA Lime (the milder cold-press version is preferred)

Cinna-Rum Mocha
Expresso (FA) 1%
Cinnamon Ceylon (FA) 1%
Chocolate (FA) 1%
Jamaican Rum (FA) 1%

Mudslide Cocktail
Irish Cream (FA) 1.5%
Coffee Expresso (FA) 1%
Vanilla Bourbon (FA) 1%
Jamaican Rum (FA) .25%
Caramel (FA) .125%

Brandied Apricots
Apricot (FA) 1.5%
Fresh Cream (FA) 1%
Brandy (FA) .75%
Honey (FA) .2%*
* To measure FA Honey easily, first make a small batch of 10% FA Honey. Use that bottle as your flavoring, using 2% in this recipe. FA Honey is exceptionally strong flavoring, and having the 10% bottle will come in handy for other recipes, too.

Cuba Libre
Cola (FA) 3%
Jamaican Rum (FA) 1%
Lime Tahity (FA) 1% (could use FA Lime Cold-Press, but Tahiti is sharper lime and works better here)

Kahlua
Coffee Expresso (FA) 2%
Vanilla Bourbon (FA) 2% (Classic works okay, no Tahiti)
Jamaican Rum (FA) .5%
Caramel (FA) .25%

Irish Lass
Vienna Cream (FA) 1%
Vanilla Classic (FA) 1%
Irish Cream (FA) 1%%

HIC is a legend, at least in my mind. I have enjoyed so many of his masterpieces. I am in no way done mixing even half of these but I've done enough of them to know I will eventually try every single one.

I started with BMV and the TFA thread, but find myself enjoying FA even more. Anyway, I hope this gets some interest going in this thread.

Has anyone used FA Joy?

I use it a good bit. Most seem to like it to add a bakery type flavor to a recipe but I use it straight up at about 4%. Not a strong distinct type flavor but it taste like a county fair smells, very pleasant.

I've used it in a few recipes. It can easily overpower a recipe, so I use small amounts. I've noticed with my Strawberry Shortcake recipe that it fades a bit after 30 days. So I just mix smaller batches, more often. I find it has a funnel cake type flavor as Gary mentioned, though I don't use it at 4%.

My Strawberry Shortcake
CAP Sweet Strawberry 8.5%
FA Joy 1%
Sweet Cream - 4%
Whipped Cream - 4%
Vanilla BIC - 6%
Sweetener - 3%
EM - 2.5%

I'm going to order FA Cookie this week. I'm really excited about this flavor.

I was going to order Cap French Vanilla also, since I don't have that flavor. But I was thinking since fa is just .50 more is there a flavor profile similiar to a french vanilla from them? Or just a really good vanilla flavor?

Cookie has the slightest hint of vanilla and something else - don't know what to call it .... cookie flavor I guess.

I have and used the Cap. French and 3 Fa vanillas. (Bourbon, Mad. & Tahiti) I have never vaped them on a stand alone basis and have no plans to. I gave each flavoring a "sniff" test tonight and they all have a different aroma profile. As just a part of the recipe in which they were used they all worked just fine.

I would look for other reviews too...

HIC's reviews I will summarise below:
(Insert flavouring name here) tastes just like biting in to an actual (insert fruit/desert/etc here), not a candy, but the real thing...

His descriptions did inspire me to buy a load of FA flavourings, some are good, others not so good (just like all the other manufacturers).
His recipes have been more miss than hit for me, but the orange tic tac one is good.
I think he generally shake n vapes, so maybe the recipes are better fresh.

99% of the recipes people share are only good for checking that the sink is still draining properly.

DIY is all about taking notes. I have been DIYing for about a year and a half and have only just started to produce juices that I actually like for more than a few minutes. It doesn't help that I leave each batch a month before passing verdict.

I am sure you will produce some decent results soon enough, as long as you steer clear of unreviewed shared recipes :)

I agree about the unreviewed ones. I did that when I first started and they were terrible! I then made sure to seek out highly reviewed ones. And not just ones where it seemed people are just kissing someone's ..., not the recipe itself. Not trying to be insulting, but I have read a lot on numerous sites.

How many have watched juice reviews on Utube?
They seem to love all the ejuice they try.
I place little faith in juice reviews. Taste is VERY subjective.
I look at the ingredients in a recipe and see if I think it will be good or not to me.
Then I try it.
Still wind up lubricating the garbage disposal from time to time.
