Hello, I got tired of paying for pre-punched carto's and having to order diff. ohm's and # of holes to have available for the diff. thickness of juices I have. Now I order a variety of diff. ohm non-punched carto's in bulk for under a buck a piece and punch them myself. I use a "Bullet Piercing Valve". It is available at some vendors for $15, I got mine on Amazon for $6. This does not distort the roundness of the carto and makes small holes. I like the small holes for thin fluids plus I like 2 holes with the holes on opposite sides with one higher than the other. For thicker juices I use a plastic head tack and stick it in one hole and twist until it's the size I want (for real thick juices I enlarge both holes). With this much control of my holes I never have a flooding problem. I'm looking forward to hearing other opinions and tips.

I've yet to find a carto punch tool that doesn't distort the casing of the cartomizer. If you actually have found one, good for you.

tool-punched carto.jpglaser-drilled.jpg

The vast majority of carto punch tools do indeed distort the casing from round to oval. Forcing such a carto through the endcaps can unknowingly cause wear and tear on the rubber gaskets, or o-rings in the endcaps. It is these o-rings which keep the juice from leaking from the tank and keeps the tank on the cartomizer.

Using laser-drilled prepunced cartomizers eliminates this problem. These holes wick juice just as well as tool-punched cartos, and options of 1-3 holes can be found.

Considering I spent between $5-6 a day on cigarettes, I don't have a problem of spending $2 for a carto with laser holes that will last me 2-3 weeks.

Punching your own cartos is not going to solve your problem of different ohms for different juice consistancies. Order from juice vendors that will custom mix your juices to the pg/vg ratios you desire. If you request it, they will usually create your juices in a "tank or carto friendly base." Besides, who uses different ohms cartomizers depending upon the juice?

I recommend anyone using a cartotank to obtain a tank accessory tool to further protect your o-rings:

I use a saddle valve from home depot. distorts it right up. lol. I don't care either.
All of my tanks were under 10 bucks. If I were to ruin one of the gaskets I'd buy a new tank.
But I use other things. I don't use carto tanks all that much. So my wear would be minimal.
Saddle Valves are 8 bucks at my HD.

Hi Bad.
It's a pleasure finally getting to talk to you. I followed all your advice in my lurking days and have your link saved to my favorites, seen your video suggestions. I do have a tool for changing cartos and use your toothpick idea for priming. I even ordered my first pyrex tank from the vendor you recomended(that didn't work out well. no offense intended.,not your fault).
The Bullet Piercing Tool encloses the whole carto and tightens down encasing it completly. you can't squish it. I find some juices I prefer a cooler vape and others do good with a hotter dual coil LR. VG juice is going to be thicker and I don't want it cut with distilled water (seems to be commonly used). I use a un-punched carto to try new juices for a few days, if it's a keeper I punch it the way I like (it takes less than a minute) and I have it perfect for my taste. When I change flavors I attach the carto to the bottle with a rubberband. So it helps to save $ on cartos. Also I like shorter 3-4ml tanks, I use standard length boge( I think I get them from a vender you turned me on to). I had a little flooding problem with pre-drilled and by adjusting hole size to fit my draw strength I never flood anymore. I ride a motorcycle so I tend to draw faster to get my hand back on the bike.
Always happy to hear your opinion.

A friend of mine uses that too, but he uses tanks with grommets. I use pyrex with stainless steel caps. not as forgiving. After reading Bads post about tools distorting cartos I searched and found the Bullet Piercing Valve. It completely tightens around the entire carto, no room to distort it. Only $6. I don't know what Home Depot sells them for. They are used for refridgeration repair. http://www.amazon.com/Supco-Bullet-...-catcorr&keywords=bullet+piercing+valve+bpv31

If you are going to post what you use to punch your carto please provide links so others can find it...especially if you are calling it something other than it's brand name.

I use a saddle valve, the exact one below. Comes in a kit. I don't need anything else from the kit so I donate it to a handyman friend of mine. This saddle valve works perfectly with minimal distortion.

I'm not convinced that the Supco Bullet Piercing Valve would work on 510 cartos without some distortion. 510 cartos are 9 mm OD. The closest of Supco sizes is BPV38 at 3/8" OD, which is 9.525 mm.

Here is the Supco Bullet Piercing Valve, which comes in several tubing sizes.

Sorry. I mentioned I got it on Amazon. The name on the box is Bullet Piercing Tool in my first post. I'll edit the others .
