So, did you open up the box, put the electronic cigarette together, and go directly to Nirvana without passing Go? Or did you struggle for weeks with flooded cartridges, dry atomizers, poor wicking, learning to refill cartridges, trying new filler materials and such? How long was your struggle? What kinds of things gave you the most trouble? Are you still struggling now? Did you buy a mod to solve your problems, only to find out your problems still existed because you hadn't really figured them out yet?

Right out of the box I felt like it (a Vapor King from V4L) could work, and on the 4th day I had it I put down the cigarettes, and haven't touched one now in over 3 months - this after 40+ years of smoking. I didn't bother with refilling cartomizers for the first couple of weeks, but thanks to many folks here who have been kind enough to share lots of good info, I have found methods that make refilling, caring for equipment, etc. quite easy. The only real adjustment I had to make early on was to bump up my nicotine level. Now I've reduced that to half of what I started with, and am working on reducing it further. And of course there's the never-ending quest for that perfect flavor.

I honestly have had no real problems from the day I got my first e-cig. Se Gold was my first and that one was pretty easy to figure out. Found this forum and did a bunch of reading then ordered a Joye510. Sure I flooded the atty a few times but no big deal. Got tired of carts went on to mods and now I drip only. I feel pretty lucky too because I haven't had one problem with any of my orders or any of the devices that I've bought so far.:nun::D

Went through most of that. Didn't buy the mods though---went the MIY route. After tweeking the filler and liquid, the mods took care of the rest. Life is pretty simple now.:)

I can't really say. I guess I was proficient after about a week- I managed to break an atomizer and a battery, but I figured out how to get it to vape well enough to keep me happy with it.

There's always new stuff to learn though. After learning the basics, I wanted to try to mix the perfect liquid, find new fillers that work better, new techniques to coax performance out of an atomizer. Then when I got everything down exactly how I wanted it, I got bored and started buying new models and adapters and accessories. Now I think I'm going to have to start making my own mods.

It's kinda like playing guitar. There's so many nuances to iron out and experiments to be done, you never can really say "That's it. I beat guitar." Same with vaping. There's always going to be some way to improve your experience.

I instantly knew that my 510 was something I would enjoy, and saw the potential in use it, or some other PV.

I did struggle for a week or two. Burned through some atty's, got my fair share of juice in the mouth. But I've got a good feel for things now. Rarely get the juice in my mouth, and my current atty's been running strong for a bit now. Still a noob, but I'm much better at this then when I started.

I started down this road about 3.5 weeks ago and it's been fairly smooth sailing. On the advice of many on this site, I ordered the 510 and have been very satisfied. Since receiving it, I've had a total of 5 analogs, all in the first couple days since I started. Today is actually my 3-week anniversary of no analogs. I've spent maybe $120 total, and that includes 3 510s and enough juice to last probably 6-8 weeks. I'm experimenting with cart mods, and they've been hit or miss, but I like experimenting, and I can always drip when necessary. I'm very happy. The advantages over analogs are so many that going back to those seems like it would be a nightmare. I've also converted 2 other smokers, one of which is very happy and hasn't smoked an analog in a couple of weeks. The other only got hers on Monday and is have some issues, mostly with trying to get a flavor she likes. She wants the taste the old analog taste (for reasons I can't imagine). I'm trying to get her to experiment and see where it leads, hopefully it will take for her too. Count me as a very happy convert.

My first drag was a nightmare of burnt metal taste and super harsh vapor. I had taken a drag immediately after putting the cartridge on, and it had not had time to wick up any juice yet! I set it down and by the time I got the courage to try it again, it was fine.

I also struggled a lot with automatic batteries, and was getting a fair amount of juice in the mouth because I would keep on sucking even though the battery had decided to stop long before I did. I might still be struggling with them to this day if I had not gotten my 510 with manual batteries.

After I got the 510 I struggled with wicking issues, and was getting a lot of that yummy dry atomizer flavor because I was taking too many drags in too short of a time. But altering my smoking pattern was not a valid altermative for me, since my main thing is taking smoke breaks. So I absolutely had to start trying various cartridge mods.

I struggled with the frequent dry atomizer flavor until I found the blue foam. This would have been enough to solve my issue, but I eventually moved to the ADM mod with blue foam and now I'm all set when it comes to cartridges.

After that I struggled a bit with being too lazy to refill sometimes, so I started dripping more often, and more often, and more often. Now I only drip, except when I am going out somewhere that really requires the convenience of a cartridge.

I started vaping about a week and a half ago. Wonderful! So much better than analogs. Such a better taste!

Right now I'm using the KR808D-1 with cartomizers that I refill - still learning that "spin" method described in other threads for getting the cartomizers completely filled (did it successfully once and it's amazing! vaped just like a new cartomizer!)

I do want to try one of the mods though. Think I'm gonna go with the new Janty eGo once they're back in stock. The extended battery life and quick-charge batteries sound like such a wonderful alternative to having to change batteries every three hours.

I'm telling everyone I know who smoke (and even those who don't smoke) about this incredible new device. It's changed my life. I smoked for 14 years and am now tobacco free!

Happy Vaping!

Still learning. After about 2 weeks of my first e-cig, the Tornado, same as the Ego, I believe it was a perfect purchase, then added the mega accessories, what a difference. I was a menthol smoker, but I ordered different flavors, so far I have not liked any, because I miss my menthol taste and feel. I know, add menthol to the flavorings. I have, the menthol overpowers the flavorings I have used so far.

    Somewhere between here and there
I didn't struggle much with the mechanics end of vaping but did struggle quite a bit the first couple months with my taste buds doing flip flops on me. One day my liquids would taste good and the next day they all tasted like crap. I am glad that is over with.

    Still struggling :) :)
Started with the the Intellicig but eventually had to give that up because of the almost continual leaks in my mouth.
Played about with the intellicig and a new Titan 510 for a while then gave them both up for 3-4 month.
Picked them up again recently and started really really Really liking the 510 (especially when I found the Red Bull and Vanilla juice!) then disaster.....

was getting fed up having to fill the cart all the time and too lazy to do dripping all day so started experimenting with the paperclip and straw methods this week. For the first few carts both worked fantastic! Flavour, vapour and cart time was amazing but after only having 2 of each carts being a success I got a horrible burnt taste and leaking (never had that with the 510 before). The burnt taste was almost continual and nothing I've been able to do has shifted it.
This week I've checked almost every troubleshooting atty problem on this site, gone through 3 new atomisers and gone back to filling up my carts normally but still seem to be having problems with my 510 -so I know I've killed it-sob! Lacking vapes, flavour and still get odd burnt/empty taste.

I think maybe I seriously need to change the way I vape. It's poslsible that I've turned into a greedy little e-juice pig - trying to suck up all the juice in one hit so letting it go dry too quickly or else I'm not letting it rest enough?

    Ending on a good note:
My Tornado/Ego came today!!! Having a few teething problems with it (tiny burnt taste and continual cart filling-arrgh!!grrr!!) but hoping that I'll have it sussed this weekend.
New juices from another company should be here next week too so I'm ready to try and crack this :)

I think I learned pretty quickly how things worked. Its been close to four months now, but I keep second guessing myself if I bought the right ecig and is there another one that is better. I am afraid of falling into the trap of buying everything. I had purchased the 510s ( my first thank goodness) because if I had gotten the M401 kit first that I got next I would say the heck with this!!! So in a way that helped me to halt my seaching a little bit. Really, Really want to try 901 but fear I will have another M401 trip. Now the ego is haunting me big time!!! Well at least slowed it down a little bit, maybe. Now ejuice we won't go there! Got some really good and some really bad.
    Nice to meet you all!
