Spent a few weeks researching for my boss, who wanted to buy kits for himself and the rest of the smokers, which proved to be a really great start. Also, as I didn't plan to quit smoking, rather letting him know up front I was going to "give it a try to be polite" and seeing if it might help me reduce my cigarette consumption, I had no pressure to quit smoking while I learned, so I actually smoked and vaped for about two months. Those two months of working out the kinks of e-cigs with no pressure to quit smoking were instrumental in actually allowing me to naturally and happily move completely away from cigarettes as I found my stride with vaping. Never would have believed it, but for me it worked. I now encourage folks to just start reading, take a test run on the models (started with the 401 and 901, and then moved to the 510 and cartomizers, which together turned my personal corner) that made the biggest difference for me, and see where it takes them. Amazing for a person who after 30+ years and many failed attempts at quitting had resigned herself to never quitting.

It was not Nirvana right away, but good enough to stop a 35+ year habit with very little effort and over a two week period without even really trying! I think the learning curve for everyone is different. Depending on how much research you are willing to do and how many questions you are willing to ask, the faster the process goes. Attitude seems to have a lot to do with it too. Looking at this as a new adventure and hobby really helps get past some of the rough days. I have to say, I have very few of them now! The main problem I find now is these things seem to change without any notice. Like the 801 suddenly going from a low bridge to a high bridge, or a brand of atomizer suddenly going from 4 holes to 2. Any changes seem to take some adjusting to. Also liquids that I have used for months suddenly are not the same recipe, not to mention the off days that the tastebuds just aren't working the way they had been. I do consider myself one of the lucky ones, not needing snus or other items to suppliment. Each new toy seems to have its own little quirks and a learning curve, that is one of the things I find to be fun. Good thing is the longer you keep at this, the faster the curve is for any new device. It just gets better and easier.

Just got my 510's today. I had been reading up on them through here for weeks before finally ordering. I bought the joye 510s from KINGPIN and received it in three days. Very nicely packaged, and they are LOVELY. They are not labeled with any kind of logo, which is extra nice. They sent them with blank carts attached and five carts extra... I ordered some cherry juice and the whole order was only 46.00. PERFECT. I blew out the atomizer liquid, added a cart, dripped some cherry on the atomizer and have a nice cherry tobacco flavor. I have not had any problems so far.... It seems WAY easier than I thought it would be.

Wouldn't say its been a struggle really. I got using it right away without much issue - though I've almost given up with carts as I vape far too fast and I think that's more my issue than equipment. I think I just drain them dry too fast lol.
Dripping has been much better, although more of a hassle, as far as taste n vapor go.
I'll get some blue foam if the pet store ever gets any back in stock, which they can't work out why its selling so fast right now (I didn't breathe a WORD I promise) and give taht a whirl - i do like the convenience of the cart it just usually doesn't hold enough juice to satisfy my juice hunger.:D
Gave up the cigs about 2 weeks or less after I got the PV - really didnt want one after about that long even though it wasn't a planned thing.

Hi all, i got a starter pack last week, tried it, and straight away ordered a different flavor (coffee), plus some empty carts. I found the carts you get with my starter pack tasted of burnt plastic. I do not give up easily after spending my dough, so that is why i got the different flavor. Excellent vape now !! Very easy to fill cartridges with dropper. Learning curve? Couple of days research on the internet. Happy Vaping everyone !!!

i spent some time researching/reading this forum and got the right PV first time (manual krd808d-1) . took me about 6 weeks to go smoke-free though. didn't pressure myself, just let it happen (it's been two months now). hardest bits were learning how to inhale and telling the difference between a dry cart and a dead battery. I think i've got it now. put the cart on a fresh battery and if i get vapor it was the battery, if not, it was the cart (duh, i'm slow sometimes it- took me longer than you'd think to figure that out)

I started out with a Cadillac of PV's, the Prodigy V2. I just got it yesterday and it took me about an hour to figure out how to inhale/drag it correctly and how to keep it juiced-up enough without flooding the atomizer. I was worried I was not giving it enough liquid so I resorted to flooding it out, but after about an hour, I realized how many hits per drop I can get to keep this sucker going strong. I have no plans on buying analog cigarettes any time in the future.

So, did you open up the box, put the electronic cigarette together, and go directly to Nirvana without passing Go? Or did you struggle for weeks with flooded cartridges, dry atomizers, poor wicking, learning to refill cartridges, trying new filler materials and such? How long was your struggle? What kinds of things gave you the most trouble? Are you still struggling now? Did you buy a mod to solve your problems, only to find out your problems still existed because you hadn't really figured them out yet?

With the thanks of this forum my learning curve was small. I wish I had found this forum before we spent tons of money on Red Dragons. Those things were so frustrating!! The carts were easy to refill but the batteries kept dying. We could only recharge them two times before they totally died. Did some research and found this forum and we bought SD's. I am very happy with that but wanted to try more so I ordered a DSE801. I still have leaky atty's but looks like that is unavoidable with this product. I love my 510, got an adapter to work with my SD and now the only problem I have is getting a good menthol flavor. I really don't like the other flavors except for maybe clove.

This forum rocks, so many informative people!!:w00t:
