How deep do you take it?

Hello everyone! Yet another new guy adding to your impressive ranks. I brought my first eGo ce4 yesterday ahead of a night on the beers. I've tried quitting numerous times...hopefully for the last time now! Drinking for me (and probably quite a few of you) is the biggest trigger and I honestly didn't expect this vaping thing to distract me from my beloved analogues. How wrong was I? I wouldn't go as far to say that I didn't think about a regular cig last night, but my ecigarette kept me from running to the nearest 7/11 in yet another moment of weakness.

i just have a few questions for you experienced people and please don't hate me if you've heard these before...

1. Inhaling techniques. I've read that due to the vapour being thicker than analoge smoke, it doesn't reach down to the lungs. Sme say that to get a better nicotine 'hit' its advised that you keep the vapours in your mouth and exhale through your nose. I've tried the second technique and find it tastes stronger, not sure about the nicotine effect though? I do miss the throat hit vaping this way though. How do you vape?

2. Girlfriend questions. My girfriend (non-smoker) is curious to this new obsession of mine. I'm trying to piece together some good reliable information for her to show her that this is a justified, clean and excepted way of quitting smoking. Could anyone here point me out a source of information that I can show her. I just want her to be as happy as I am that I've found this replacement and not smoking anymore (only 1 day so far, but its looking good!).

Other than that, I love a good forum and hopefully one day, I'll be able to answer some questions here too...

Until then, happy vaping, keep strong and much love to you all.

thanks

Chris

Sorry, but I lol'ed at the thread title. Climbing back out of the gutter now...

I think we all fell into the same gutter..... :)

I'm another "mouth it then inhale it" person. I usually exhale through my nose and press my tongue up on my palate to get the best flavor.

Let vapor fill mouth, slight inhale to get a bit of TH, then slowly exhale through nose and/or mouth. I try to maintain the longest contact with mucous membranes I can. I like to watch the thick vapor slowly reap out of nose/mouth. Once I started doing this, I noticed that I would be much more satisfied with nicotine uptake, and wasn't constantly chain vaping - didn't need to change nic strength.

Tell you girlfriend:

PG ... PG is a germicide.
Used in ventilation systems of surgery rooms, and office buildings to prevent the spread of germs.
Is the basic ingredients in Sno-Cone, as it makes the flavoring "stick" to the ice.
Used in asthma inhalers, babyfood, pills, all kinds of food in the grocery store, in cosmetics like lipstick etc etc
Ever been to a disco, or concert with a "fog" machine ... vapor, duh, good'ol PG. all FDA approved.

VG ... Made from vegetables, it's in my kitchen and used in cooking,
Is a basis for "trail bars, health bars, etc
Nearly all wines have an appreciable amount of natural VG
Makes a great lotion for softer skin, which the body greedily sucks up.
Again is in most of our store bought food products.

Flavoring ... where do you NOT find it. Does she eat, drink soda, kool aid, juice ???

Nicotine ... Again, does she eat ?? ANYONE who consumes vegetables has nicotine in the system, even the children tested for it.
You can become pretty sick without nicotine in your system, as you body needs and uses it.
There is a long list of illnesses that it is prescribed for ... yes, also for people that don't smoke.
Everyone tests positive for nicotine in the blood and for its metabolites in the urine.
There has never been a large-scale clinical trial of nicotine where anyone tested negative for nicotine.
The last test by the CDC in the USA involved 800 subjects and all tested positive for nicotine at measurable levels, even where the subject was a non-smoker, had never smoked, and had no possible contact whatsoever with smokers.
Many vegetables contain nicotine, and also the co-located and similar compound nicotine acid (also known as vitamin B3 or niacin). Tomatoes, potatoes and several other vegetables all provide dietary nicotine.
Tea often contains nicotine, which after all is one of the reasons it works as a pick-me-up.
Some vegetables such as aubergine (eggplant) contain significant amounts of nicotine.

The key to all of this is to remove the smoke.
Without the smoke in cigarettes, consumption of certain specific types of tobacco (and, especially, nicotine consumption alone) can be proven to be ultra low risk.
A large population of people consumed nicotine for decades with no visible health impact.
The issue is not debatable. The Swedish proved it.

Yes, smokers over-do it, but then the body adjusts to the higher levels, and isn't to happy when you try to cut back "cold turkey"
Double whammy .. physical and emotional.
Vaping helps with the "hand to mouth" while we gradually reduce (if we want too) the nicotine level
Since you've quit cigarettes, all the little cilia in your lungs and bronchial passages have become un-paralyzed, so they constantly shove anything your lung tissue doesn't like up your windpipe to the point where you either cough up the offending goop or swallow it.

You've done a healthy thing for yourself, and the people around you.
Let HER prove you didn't.
Now, pass the beer..................

Firstly I want to appogise for the misleading title...it honestly didn't occur to me that it might have a shrewdly hidden alternative meaning ;) . But seriously, Wow guys, it takes a lot to impress me, and your knowledgable and quick response has helped me out tremendously. As I write this, my 'gf' is reading through some of the literature you posted. I especially like yours Slots, thanks for going to the effort to write that out.

I in fact love the response so much that I'm actively looking for more questions. But I'll try an keep them to a minimum and steer clear of flooding this forum with loosely based sexual titled posts.

I am now starting to take it a little deeper and it feels good.

I'll just leave that one alone... As far as inhaling goes, I think it varies quite a bit from one liquid to the next. I've tried a few that were uncomfortable to inhale - especially menthols. Others are milder and I can take massive lung hits comfortably. That being said, inhaling anything but air is probably not good for you, and if you're satisfied without it then it's probably better to avoid it.
