My wife and I were visiting my aunt and uncle today, we all vape. I was sitting there chit chatting and then I noticed that I was becoming slightly embarrassed. I looked around at everyone and they all have egos, nothing wrong with that, they like it and it fills their needs just fine. Then I look at the table in front of me and I have my ego, a vamo, and a chi you clone. Hmmm, have I gotten carried away? Then my stepfather showed up and he also have a vamo and then I didn't feel so peculiar.

I have seen people's pics of their gear and a bunch of people have 3+ setups. What i want to know is, do I really need all these devices? I feel like I should stop here. I have one of all the types of setups I would want; slim portable ego, adjustable vw mod, and big powerful mech. I really don't want to get over run. It's there any bases I'm not covering? Maybe I should think a bit longer about what kind of mood I'm in before I leave the house so that I don't just end up taking everything with me, I can see that being difficult once the weather gets warmer and I no longer have the storage of a hoody.

There's ALWAYS something else you need!

I kid, I kid... Whatever floats your boat. I started vaping 3 months ago, and already have 6 devices. The progression makes sense to me, and I have a couple of things I would still like... However, I don't NEED anything else.. but I am chasing that perfect vape. Not talking the biggest cloud, but the right balance between flavor, throat hit, moisture, warmth... you know... that vape that makes you go WOW~!!!

For some of us, vaping becomes more than a means to not smoke cigarettes. It can also become a hobby. Nothing wrong with that the way I see it; it can actually help in keeping you off of the smokes.

I have ten mods which I've accumulated in over a year and a half of vaping. I could easily survive with just two of them, a primary mod and a backup. There's a few that I hardly use anymore. A couple that I use in specific circumstances (stealth vaping at the cinema, for instance). But by and large I'm using two Provari's or maybe an MVP.

I never bought much stuff, but have been vaping going on two years now. I have eight power supplies and a bunch more clearos, cartos, carto tanks and RBA/RDAs. There are a lot of people on ECF who have a lot more gear than I do. You certainly don't need a lot. I doubt I'll be buying anything in 2014 except for maybe another RBA or RDA. I always took my time and didn't buy anything new until I knew what I wanted and why I wanted it.

OYOH, some people look at vaping as a hobby or as a chance to collect things. Nothing wrong with that, but it is not needed to be satisfied.

Ummmm...I have 1 mod in my hand & another 3 setup to go in front of me at the moment. As well as 2 more waiting for their RBA's to be put back on after I put on new coils. I like to be able to pick up one & then vape another flavor without any hassle. I don't think you're carried away at all although I started to feel like I was. I'm all set on mods for now I hope:) So as long as you're happy & not breaking the bank I say collect until your hearts content.

I'm pretty new and have a modest set up that is working well, an ego style kit. But I just ordered another one, so I will have a back up, just in case.

I think my downfall will probably be the e liquid. I already have quite a few different ones, and just ordered some more. I have them all lined up like little soldiers in a little plastic box, and brought them into the living room. They are ready to protect me against any sudden cravings, and I've been keeping them in sight as I watch TV, just in case I feel a need for something different!

I peronally might not fill the table with 'tools' - but a backup is a great idea. You believe in what you are doing - not a thing wrong with doing so.

Pater-In-Law showed ya he is OK with vaping and THAT beats what some folks must endure.

Do as you feel comfortable. If someone says, "Get that off my table"............ honor their wishes. Then I'd just cross them off my "accepted list" for vaping friendly. I'm old and need all the warm bodies to visit I can find - decades ago I would also blow them off in a huff and walk out.

Age mellows us! I'd would sill cuss 'em when I was away from unfriendly ears!

Well, I've been vaping for a little over 3 years now. I've accumulated many mods and many atties, of all styles... In the end I mostly use my provary with an atomic RDA, and both semovar both fitted with a kayfun with different flavours.
I think its maybe time to sell some of my stuff that I hardly use anymore ... Got at least 20+ genesis atties that I don't use much anymore...
Its crazy the way we can accumulate, but every purchase at the time was the latest in research and in flavour... The ultimate research for the best !
If I have to count the mods and atties setup including the one I parted with a long time ago such as the eGo-T/C and all the horrible atties that were popular then, I would say without hesitation that I owned over a 100 setups over the last 3 years,... Did I save over cigarettes ? Not sure, but I had a great time researching the ultimate vape.

TRUTH I have alot of devices.

TRUTH I actually need 2 classes of devices: SMaller ego+clear types for driving. Big mod for home. I can't drive with a big mod due to very small hands.

I have 3 BIG mods that I consider worth a darn. My 2 REO Grands and my Vamo. All the others were purchased along the way to finding my good ones. The REOs are built like a tank and simple to fix myself. If the Vamo dies I will buy a provari. I just don't use the Vamo much anymore. Any of the others if they break I toss them and they do not get replaced.

I have 5 EGO type devices. As they break I am not replacing. Long run I want down to 2.

I have a couple of EGO-T 18650s that are part of my vapocalypse box and rarely used. I got them because they will charge off a standard USB charger OR with hte batteries out a standard battery charger. These are part of my hurricane kit along with a 5000 mah solar USB charger.

I do not regret any of the purchases I made along the way. Just about half the stuff I have will not be replaced when it breaks. I consider it backups at this point.

I made a concerted effort to move towards mechs and rebuildables precisely because of the durability and the ability to repair things myself. I do not trust my own governments not to screw over vapers so it is all preparedness to me. I have what I need to vape for the rest of my life buying only PG, VG, flavorings, wicking material and wire.
