I had tried e cigs a few years ago because i was working on a hospital and could not smoke on property. The cheap 7-11 e cig did not work, now about a month and a half ago i was on another forum totally unrelated and got a bug to try it and bought a mini kit. With in two weeks i was on to a ego-c with a tank and am now looking in to VV egos and mods.

Friends started vaping about a year ago. Never thought much about it nor would I use it. But here I am, almost 4 months smoke free. No one convinced me to start vaping. I just thought I lived my life never regretting any decision I've made. Reality struck when I realized at the rate of almost a pack of day of smoking for the past 17+ years or so I would later succumb to its effects when I'll be 40, 50, or so. I plan to live a long life, but not where I would shorten it this way; smoking. I don't want to be at that point where I would say to myself, "damn...I shouldn't have been smoking that much all those years...". So, I decided to go to a not so local vape shop (about 20mins) and decided to drop the analogs and go "digital". I came to the store with barely any knowledge, but the owner was there and educated me in the vast options I have. From hardware to juices. He even showed tips and tricks and what to do and what not to do. I got an ego-t kit with a dual coil 3.5ml tank system (2 complete units. i think the tank and cartomizers are smoktech with 1000mah). So, if one was on the charger, I would have the other to vape. Got a few ml of juices with 18mg on them. Never tried tobacco flavors. If I was to quit, why would I want that taste? The fruit flavors are overpowering over the tobacco flavors. A month later I went down to 12. The next month down to 8. Now finishing the batch of 4mg. Next week will be the 0mg batch. I vape less since I started and hopefully in a month or so time be nicotine-dependent free or even vape free. (the goal is still set to december). I'm not sure if my addiction is because of the nicotine or just the action of "smoking". I don't recall any withdrawal symptoms. In the first week I noticed a very big difference. No more out of breath feeling when I'm at the gym. It got better and better as the weeks went by. The smell of smoke lingering on my clothes or even around me is non-existant. The smell of smoke is now disgusting, but I'm not one to be a hypocrit and tell the smoker to put it out when I'm around. Their choice; I once was them. I'm glad a forum like this is around. Very informative and a very helpful community. I'm proud to say; I'm a vaper - All digital and anolog free. Oh, one of the best units I have that really has nothing to do with an e-cig is a portable battery. It has two usb ports so it can charge two usb units at the same time such as; cell phone, e-cig. Comes in very handy when on the road and no power outlet to be found. Its a 7800 mah portable battery - that can charge about 7 or so e-cig batteries. (I even have a solar powered portable battery that's just for fun if I'm in the boonies).

I had my oral surgeon tell me not to smoke for a few days to let the area heal where he ripped a tooth out of my head. That was no problem seeing I was in pretty bad pain and had no desire to smoke. Two, four, six days went by and I had been really craving a cig, but I figure after six days, I would try for a little longer. After a week and a half, my wife was noticing I was snapping at her, I couldn't focus on anything, and just overall mad at the world. I was a PAD smoker for 18 years, mostly ultra lights.

After that week, she told me: Either start smoking again, or maybe look into e-cigs, we kept seeing the infomercial (can't remember the name now) and I thought I'd give it a try. That next day, I stopped by my local gas station and bought a 21st Century "starter kit". I paid around $30 for this thing (still cheaper than that week and half worth of regular cigs) and that's what started my vaping journey. I used those for almost a year, and now I am onto to eGo-c with clearos. To this day, that $30 starter kit was probably the best money spent.

I found vaping a few years ago, in a conference wich theme had nothing to do with vaping, there was just a little stor that tried to sell some expensive, but low quality cigarette like product. I that time I thought as a regular smoker, it is too odd for me. Years passed and the same product was still in businness, then I thought if a product can survive so many years of selling it shure worth a shot... I bought one it was okay but then I started to search for more and eventually I found a lot of forums, friends , vapers who heleped me a lot , and therefore I became a vaper that was two years ago.
Since then I used a lot of products, and I am satisfied with vaping.

Think I first heard someone talking about e-cigs at work something like three years ago. Didn't pay much attention but two children and an ex-smoking wife later I began to wonder about them. I bought an N-Joy and soon after (within a couple of weeks) it wouldn't charge. I lost the receipt and couldn't return it so I gave up on it. So... reality sets in a couple of months ago when my father gets lung cancer and has to have half a lung removed. Not to mention a couple of heart attacks prior... So the long and short of it, I am now the proud owner of the Wal-Mart mistic because for one, I am allergic to pain  and two I would like to be here to watch my kids grow up:D. (25 yrs smoking and only 10 yrs from the age of my fathers first heart attack) I am truly glad to find forums like this to help we noobs get a handle and advice on things.

BTW: Had I known when I first tried this that I could refill these things I may have taken it more seriously. Thanx to youtube for that bit of knowledge and to you guys for resources.
God bless

Got a sample E-cig at a trade show and puffed on it every once in a while. Wife and kids had been bugging me to stop for a while and finally took a puff on that thing again and said you know maybe these things would be worth a try its not that bad.

Started looking online for the best E-cig and after looking at a lot of paid pages finally stumbled onto this place. Never looked back. Got an ego started kit a couple days after finding this place and then found Pink spot right here in town. Havent smoked a cig since I walked in their door.

Its only been three weeks now I think but already smokes smell gross and pink spot is soo yummy I cant see myself ever smoking again.

Already bought a Vmax and some vivi novas and the expeirence has been great so far. I am really enjoying it and actually having fun trying out new stuff. I can definitely see lots of toys in my future. The DIDS look very interesting as do bottom feeders.

That reminds me I should order another sample pack from somewhere.

Thanks ECF for being here and being such a great resource.

At my daughter's birthday party.

My sister was vaping on a Mistic (She still uses that darn thing and won't let me upgrade her). She told me to try it. I was less than impressed but I figured it could be a fun little gadget to play with, so I went to Wal-Mart and bought one of my own. Once I decided to give it a real try, I was floored at this "vaping" thing.

It took less than a week and I was off cigarettes. From there, I got a cheap generic little 808. I used that for about a month or two, all the while studying how they work and learning more about electricity. When I felt I was finally ready, I went and built my first box mod.

The rest is history. I build my own mods and mix my own juice and I have loved every step of the way.

I resumed smoking about 18 months ago, after having quit for years. Knew I'd have to give up again. Meanwhile, a friend brought me back an ecigarette from Thailand. I charged it, it worked then ... didnt work.
So I thought I'd buy one retail. Found a local retailer, and bought a cigarette-pack style kit. Within a day I knew that wouldn't cut it for me. Hated holding it like a cigarette: it was heavy to hold that way, the battery had poor staying power and the flavour didn't thrill me.
I bought an ego-t battery, then another, and have ordered a twist.
Vaping zero nic, and still smoking, but cut down from half a pack a day to five or six. Will get down to zero.
It's been a heady few weeks.
Still lots to discover and learn.

My journey has been filled with bumps and roadblocks. Years ago, I convinced my hubby we needed to do "something", a local store sold the Njoy Npro starter kit, and we got two. I really wanted it to work but for numerous reasons, short battery life, flavor restrictions etc., and the cost of the carts just didn't work for us. The kits went into a drawer and stayed there. I did quit analogs cold turkey late in 2004, and lasted 4 months, but jumped off the wagon again. My daughter's boyfriend received a Volt starter kit for his birthday last year, and although I saw it, really didn't give it much credence due to my experience with the other. Then my curiousity got the better of me, and I ordered a starter kit with Smokeless Image.
It was the "best" purchase I ever made, and after only receiving the kit on 8/30/12, one analog was smoked and never again. Now I have spent a little moolah, but the way I have it figured in a mere 35 more days I will reach my "break even" day! I am excited and still experimenting with different flavors, etc. I am looking forward to the rest of my journey - but this I know - analogs are a thing of the past for me!

How I found it? Well, it's slightly complicated I suppose. 2 years ago I was on the internet doing the usual internetting and came across some ecig sites, no clue how but that's how the internet goes. Well, I also read the HC public notice and immediately wrote ecigs off. It was still fresh so most info on them was linking back to the announcement (google and it's location aware searches).

2 years later I tried a disposable no-nic that they've started rolling out here. Didn't work for withdrawal but showed me that there was a light at the end of the tunnel. I was trying to cut down, but a month later I was on the patch and back to a PAD+. Coughing every morning and throughout the day, I was desperate. These things were killing me and after 20 years I was finally FEELING it. Decided "Eff the law" and ordered my first cigalike kit, started hunting down nic+ suppliers, stumbled on ECF, made an order. Yep, I found this awesome site and all you fantastic folks purely so that could get my liquid. In all honesty (and I hate to actually see it written) I had no intention to stick around. I know it's rude, but yea...I digress

The day my liquid arrived is the day I became a vaper. My mind was blown, it's like a light switch went off in my head. Now I hover around the boards and offer as much opinion and help as possible to other new folks.

Long story short: I became a vaper because of ECF and the folks on it.

A dude at work showed me his back in 08 and he's still smoking 4 years later so I went out to a Chinese website and pick up a cigarette looking PV that was horrible so I stashed it in a cupboard, it took me 2 more years to get with the program a lot of things had changed e-cigs had improved. I really want to give my smoking coworker a better set up he still uses that 08 model when he can't smoke maybe an vv kgo or a ego twist

A fellow I worked with on occasion mentioned how a buddy of his had quit smoking using something called a blucig. I'd attempted quitting and failed but was really feeling the effects of about 40yrs. of inhaling smoke into my lungs sooo....

Went home after work checked out the blu site and others(a bit pricey), stumbled upon this forum.
Was very intimidated by the size and vast amount of information but joined, read reviews and watched utube vids, asked questions, learned.

Very glad I found ECF before I purchased a blu or some other cig look alike set-up.
For a few bucks more(than blu or others) I ordered my Provari a week or so later.

Having had about a 40yr. habit I think had I not gone with the Provari and gotten a kit of lesser....not sure of the word I'm looking for... a lesser device, I may not have been as successful as I have been at cutting out cigarettes.

Thank-you ECF and the members who've helped me along the way.

A friend/coworker that I would take smoke breaks with made the switch. He had upgraded to a Lavatube and loaned me a couple sets of cheap e-cigarettes. Showed me how to drip those and let me tryout some of his juices. I vaped Apple Jax on those for a few days without a single analog and ordered my eGo-c kit. Now using an eGo Twist 1000 with mini Vivi Nova.

We occasionally go out the the "smoker area" to get out of the office and find that almost all the analog smokers are fascinated with our ecigs. So far, we have at least 4 other people researching and planning their ecig orders :)

I smoked for over 43 years. The last 30+ years I was smoking between 2 and 3 PAD. I knew I wanted to quit smoking, but other attempts (cold turkey, patches, gum...wasn't gonna risk a chemical pill!) didn't work. And it wasn't hard to figure out why. None of them addressed the hand to mouth habit. I started hearing snippets about e-cigs about a year and a half ago...but assumed they were expensive and something only Hollywood types and rich people would have access to getting. Finally, I took real notice when there was a news story on TV last Fall about "are e-cigarettes really safe to use?" or something like that. The report was negative, but I saw that the idea was exactly the sort of thing that might work for me!

I am disabled and am pretty much home bound most of the time. My main contact with "the outside" is through the internet and television or radio..and family members. I was on FB one day and saw an ad on the right for GreenSmokes e-cigarettes. Curious I clicked the link (something I usually never do) to see what it was really about. Well, what I found out turned me off. I didn't want to commit to something that required me to "subscribe" and have money taken out of my account every month. I wanted to know if e-cigs were ALL that expensive, or were there alternatives? So I went on a Google quest. In view of the fact the "little cigars" (like cigarettes, only labeled "cigar" to avoid the cigarette tax) I smoked were only $15 a carton ...I didn't want to spend a lot more money on a so called e-cig gadget. Saving money wasn't my main motivation. Mostly I was starting to realize my own mortality...and I knew my kids (now grown) really wished I'd quit, but knew better than to push me.

Anyway...after a couple of days I found a "comparison site" (no doubt paid for by the manufacturers of the products being "suggested") and decided on Safe Cig. I liked some of the principles of the company, and given my chain smoking ways and not liking the idea of marketing "fruit and candy flavors" to "smoke". Anyway, I put in an order, and a few days later my first kit arrived. I had 7 packs of brand new cigarettes still in their carton in the laundry room and was halfway through smoking the last cig in a pack when the mail arrived. I put out the cig...put together the new Safe Cig and gave it a try.

Hmm. A little heavier than I was used to, but not bad. Flavor...pretty nice. Could get used to it. After all, I'd had to change brands many times due to rising prices, so I could adapt to a little thing like a slight difference in flavor. And the vapor was cool! I'm getting my hand mouth habit thing! Yeah. This can work, I think!

I never again picked up that half smoked cigarette. And the 7 new packs remained un-smoked and ended up in my freezer in a plastic bag. For me, it was just that easy to quit smoking. Cold on a dime...after 43 years! That was Sept. 29, 2011.

Within a month I'd found V2, then right after that Smokeless Image. By late November I got a 1000 mAh vGo kit from Vapors Heaven and was sold on the "big battery". No more constant charging! Soon after that I branched out to Echos, then kGos then eGo passthrough/batteries, then SI came out with the X2 and it was LOVE. Got Elites, and Go-Gos. An online friend gave me a LavaTube. Now messing around with variable voltage types (have a Twist and am waiting for my kGo VV) . Tried all sorts of tanks..DCT and clearos and CE2s and 901 T tanks, and eGo tanks etc. etc. etc. Have abandoned them all now. Too fiddly, too many leaks, cracks, hassles, waste. Found some large capacity cartomizers for both KR808 and 510 systems and now use those exclusively. Have every adapter cone and sleeve known to man. Dozens of charges, wall worts, passthrough cords, drip tips, storage boxes, syringes, pipettes, etc. Considering a box mod like the Gripper VV. Branched into DIY juice about 6 weeks ago and going great guns with ALL the equipment a science lab might drool over....have a "perfect" menthol recipe I use all the time now. (I am strictly a menthol gal).

Ina couple of weeks I'll mark my first year without a single cigarette...and I am a confirmed vaper. Converted my husband (finally) last June to vape exclusively (he was trying to both smoke and vape since last October) and he likes the X2, Twist and LavaTube. I've worked my nicotine down from 18-24mg. to 5mg. now and feel no ill effects from the drop. Maybe one day I'll go to 0 nic. But one thing I know. I will never give up vaping so long as I can get the equipment I need to do it. It satisfies the thing it turns out I was MOST addicted to: the hand to mouth habit. I enjoy it...I enjoy the rituals. They will have to pry my PV from my cold dead fingers one day.

returning home for the first time in two years and found things had changed! haha my father had been given an ego kit from a guy at work who decided they didn't like it. Weird thing is my dad was a smoker of thirty plus years since age twelve. something like 2-4 pad! So he has this little silver things in his hand as he vapes and talks. Gets me wanting a smoke, i go to light up and my mom (who has hated ciggs her whole life) freaks... Turns out the house is now smoke-free go figure? Sooo I ended up with a loaner unit from my dad and was AMAZED. It worked for him like a charm and worked for me just as well. Made the decision right then and there 4 months ago I will have one. Still shopping around and saving money but yeah the things work. IF my dad can pass up a cig then anyone can. So long as they can vape.
