I'm just using (I guess) a standard eGo 900 unit with a 1.5 atty. I've been switching flavors up as well... going from menthol, banana & coffee to Killa Vanilla (High Gravity) which has a very strong flavor... but even those are leaving me craving more taste & hit at this point. They start off good, but by the end of the day it's like they barely have a taste.
Don't get discouraged, you're already ahead of the game.
Most will recommend an LR atty (you've tried that). You
could increase nic content, but that could be bad if you're already getting your cravings curbed by whatever you're using now and induce a new set of problems like headaches from nic overload. Increasing the PG in your e-liquid will help both with taste & throat hit with the inverse result of less vapor production, which in my opinion isn't a big deal anyway. Shoot for 80% PG or so.
A higher voltage setup would give you a great boost. Even a 3.7v Riva battery or 3.8v kGo would give you more at little expense versus your ~3.2-3.4v eGo. Even if cost is an issue, you could get a
Maxi Roughstack or
Shine Mod with some of these
batteries for some 6v action, but you'll need to use either ~3.0ohm cartos or dual-coils for that much voltage. You could do a box mod like
this and get a nice 5v vape if 6v is too "hot".
All these recommendations are ~$50USD, & will definitely give you more kick. I feel your pain, my tastebuds are pretty shot as well & it wasn't until I tried a high voltage setup that I started really loving vaping.
Good luck, report back, we're all here for you.
EDIT: I forgot to add, sometimes juice flavors with inherently strong kick, like citrus/menthol/pineapple/cinnamon, tend to give your buds a nice jolt. I know you've tried menthol so maybe that's just reaching, but just a thought.
