How do I know if I made a silica coil correctly?

Hi,
Long time reader, first time poster. So I just wrapped my first dual coil and I was wondering how one could tell the coils are working correctly? I did a 3/4 wrap on 3mm silica with 30 gauge wire. I notice the coils start glowing nearest to the post and slowly move to the center.

do you know whats ohms it running at?

I just used a multi meter and it came out to 2.8 but it fluctuates between 2.7 and 2.8.
You put one lead on the thread and one on the center right?

2.8 sounds good but I thought dual coil usually run lower

Well I'm brand new to dual coil. I always did single but I wanted to try something new. Should I try a 2/3 wrap?

Oh, one was loose so I tightened the screw and now its 1.7-1.8

How do I know if the coils heat up correctly?

think you can test it like you did before and watch the coils to make sure they glow red
