How do I know if my tank is broken?

Wow didnt expect to see so many replies! Thank you to everyone for taking your time and giving me advice. I think I'm just going to save up and buy a completley new device... maybe I can spare the tank somehow though haha
I'm in the new tank camp. I prefer the soft silicone type myself.

The only thing you should use a malfunctioning tank, esp one broken at the 510 is for spare parts.
