OK . . . breathe in, breathe out . . .

Stop hiccuping from juice ingestion . . .

So I'm TRYING to fill my very first tank, and all was going just fine UNTIL I pulled the carto down farther to "finish" putting juice in the tank.

I GUESS I somehow "misalïgned" the :censored: carto during withdrawal, because suddenly whoosh OUT came ALL of the juice I had successfully put into it.

Now I CANNOT get the :censored: carto "properly aligned" again to SAVE MY LIFE! :grr: (I'm talking about that little notch thingy on the bottom of the carto ). It LOOKS straight, but still dumps all juice I try to put into the tank the second I pull down the carto far enough to add juice.

SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!!! :(:(:(:(:(:mad::mad::mad:

I actually used a syringe to intially fill the carto. I then pulled the carto down a little so I could see space at the top of the tank (per SD's video), and dripped down the side of the tank about 1-2 ml. I pushed the carto back up, put on the DT, and did all the "Look Ma, no leaky!" maneuvers that Snow did, and miracle de Dieu -- mine didn't leak either!

But of course, the tank was still nearly empty (it's a 6ml), so I pulled the DT off, pulled the carto back down a bit to finish filling-- and even before I could get it down far enough to see air space at the top of the tank, whoosh -- out comes most of the juice that had been behaving so properly just moments before!! :(

Repeated efforts to reinsert, pull down, reinsert, fiddle with notch, etc. all led to the same dismal result -- WHOOSH.

DANG IT.

if you stand your tank up with battery end down, do you see a separate ring looking thing (metal maybe)? Sometimes if you push the carto too hard (remember SD sd sit your tank on table to push DT into place) this "ring" will come off. If it does and you have juice in there it will "whoosh" out for sure. It can be put back into place but you will have lost your tank of juice. (darn this is frustrating, I just wanna show you!!!!!!!!! lol)

I see a metal ring on the bottom. And a black ring on the inside of the tank, towards the bottom.

The weird thing is, after several unsuccessful attempts to get it to stop whooshing, I tipped the :censored: tank on its side, put another 2ml down the inside, then quickly pushed the carto back in all the way, put the DT back on, wiped the bottom of the tank and put it on an XL manual. I have been "sipping" on it successfully ever since.

I do not want to try again until I have vaped away the approx. 1ml of juice that's left in the tank, because I LOST so dang much already!!

Perhaps I wasn't gentle enough with it. We'll see, when I finish up what little is actually IN the tank now.

Thank you for your efforts to talk me through it, dedi!! Next time I gently pull the carto down, I'll keep an eye out for that stinkin' RING.

I don't have an empty tank to experiment with.........my four are all filled. I have only had the ring come off once! Now I am second guessing/trying to remember. Maybe it was the part where you put the dt in that comes off when you push the carto back in after filling! I am so sorry I am not better help! :(

Hang in there Eleanor! My first couple of attempts were disastrous, to say the least  I made so much mess, popped the top cap off because I didn't get the carto aligned right before pushing it up, popped the bottom cap off trying to get the top cap on .

Eleanor, does your tank have black caps or metal? I ask, because my 1st tank has black caps, and I have to align the carto exactly right in the bottom, otherwise it leaks. The metal cap ones don't have that specific seating arrangement. It does sound like you pushed the bottom cap out though ...

WOO HOO!!!

Daring Fate, I just oh-so-gently-gently pulled the carto down itsy bit by itsy bit: no leakage. Itsy bit more, until air space was visible at the top of the tank; STILL no leakage!

I tipped the tank almost on its side, filled her up to almost full, quickly but oh-so-gently pushed the freaking carto straight back all the way up/in; and:

Apparent success!! :banana::banana:

If I can get the HANG of this, it will certainly restore a little of that "ready to hand", sure and reliable factor that I miss from analogs (at least for about 6 ml's worth :D). The only downside I'm noticing is a slight muting of flavor, and of course it will drain my battery in no time (I'm prepared for that).

Oh, V4L: What we really really need to solve the tank/battery drain conundrum is a nice, fat, juicy 1300mah fat bat from V4L that runs at our favorite 4.2 volts!!!

Mine has metal caps.

I must've pushed the bottom cap out the first time, but I swear I never noticed that . . . but as you can now see, it seems to be fixed!

Thank you both! :)

Glad you got it working! They are certainly a nice improvement. When I leave the house now, I just grab my mod with 1 tank, 2 sets of spare batteries, and an extra filled tank, and I'm good to go. (There's a passthrough and several cartos in the glove box just in case.)

While I'm not covered once I'm out of the car, I work from home so for the most part this doesn't present an issue. If I'm going somewhere where I'll be away from home and not near the car, then I bring several XL batteries as well.

yeahhhhhhhhhh, I just couldn't go to bed until I checked in to see how you were doing! As SD keeps saying there is a "learning curve" but now you've done it! :)
