how do i set the top screw?

Just got my buzz in yesterday. A couple of times while unscrewing the carto the whole top cap would unscrew. Upon inspection the bottom screw (with the wire lead) was about to fall out. So, I tightened the lead screw, screwed in the top cap, then tightened the top screw(hot screw?)

I started getting bad vapor so I left the buzz at home today and fiddled around with it when I got home. By bad I mean little vapor with no taste(bad taste really). All my voltage readings were normal and switching the exact same carto to the ego produced good vapor(also, the unit worked well when I took it out of the box)

Finally I came to the conclusion that I was getting poor contact between the hot screw and carto. I unscrewed the hot screw a bit and everything started working fine and dandy.

Is there a method to properly set the depth to avoid this kind of problem in the future?

Seems if I screw it out a good ways then insert my carto, it makes contact and screws down simultaneously. Should I do this every time?

Upon further inspection I see with the top screw extended it just pushes down the turntable. I can also see with the carto screwed on the turntable is immobilized so there is good contact there. I now have no voltage to the carto. I think I have screwed this thing up hardcore

okay, i see the problem. The wire to the bottom screw has broken. It was concealed by the heat shrink tubing. I'll mess with it tomorrow

Yeah that happened to my first one too, I just cut off the old connector and put a new one plus more heatshrink tubing on myself.

Ya we are changing the wire to a larger size and increasing the length of the heat shrink tubing to try and eliminate this problem .

I got it repaired as best as I could. I'm still having problems with the bottom screw loosening for no apparent reason. I personally think the heat shrink tubing should be shorter and the eyelet bent down at an angle. this way the wire is lead down inside the unit instead of towards the side(that is how I rigged mine anyways).

We are bending them in now so they fit better , the extra length on the heatshrink tubing will help support the wire better .

If I order a Buzz now, will I get it with the adjustment? I am also wondering if it's fair to think that the top cap is not completely sealed because of the screw?

One of the users ( 5 card ) did a test with water and had NO leaking after 1 hour soak time so NO they dont leak.
