how do you clean your empty bottles.

I just pored out 7 bottles of juice I refuse to use. What's the best way to clean them so the flavor is gone. Not now but soon I will be looking into diy and plan to use them

I have been soaking mine in water,plus a little bit of baking soda ,and it seems to do the trick for me .

I use only glass bottles and use soap and water for most. However I love licorice and I use baking soda and hot water to clean that one. Works great but Isopropyl alcohol would be easier. I'll give that a try next time.

Hot soapy water then 3 minutes in the ultrasonic cleaner.

I use distilled white vinegar to clean my bottles. Rinse with hot water, fill 1/4 with vinegar and shake then rinse. Just like new!

I'll tell you what not to do...

Don't throw them into a pot of boiling water.

Warm Dawn and bleach solution soak. Very mild on the bleach 1:10 maybe. Rinse then shake with Everclear or PGA. Works on plastic too, helps kill the smell from the old mix. Syringes, needles, bottles, everything.

For glass bottles soak them in Milton. The same stuff as babies bottles. Sanatizes them

dawn isn't safe mixed with bleach safer to use detergennt(dawn)rinse, then use bleach solution

Ive never had a problem with soap and water. Pour hot water/soap into big bowl, dump bottles, soak until I forget they are there and remember again, use bottle brushes (small ones, probably were made for baby bottles), rinse then rinse again. Done.

I only clean them in batches of 10+ because they are too cheap to worry about most of the time

I rinse mine with very hot water and soak them. So far, I haven't had problems with flavours hanging around (even some flavours I hated and had to dump).

lots of good suggestions here. i use vodka as my go-to cleaner. hot water & soap, then vodka soak. i use 91% iso for pungent smells. baking soda + warm water too. sometimes i have to use all 4 methods. im not sure about the bleach although its likely fine after a good rinse. i gotta try that vinegar idea. that oughta work well. i just read in another thread that oxyclean free is a great cleaner. the one without any scent. the poster was a home brewer so i think he knows his stuff as home brewing requires immaculate supplies.
