I normally remove the drip tip on the rda and drip on the coils and around them. While this proves to be sufficient, I found if I remove the body and saturate the wicks more evenly that I get a smoother and more consistent vape.

Do you just remove your drip tip or the body to drip ? Reason I'm asking is there just may be a way that I'm not discovering.

It depends on the atty. I've been using my Petri, Kennedy 24, and Twisted Messes over everything else lately. For the Petri I just pop the top, don't have to worry bout taking off the whole chimney section. The Twisted Messes I drip in through the cap since the chuff is such a wide bore I can angle a unicorn bottle to hit directly onto the coils to saturate them.
The Kennedy 24 I pull off the topcap (although I could drip straight through the tip) because I don't want to miss dripping onto my coils and having the juice fall into the airflow pipes on the bottom of the deck, even though they don't leak if you get juice in them. I also like to fill up the entire juice well because it holds a TON of juice and I don't want to redrip every 5 hits.
What atty are you using?

I take the cap off, because in the Achilles, the airflow hole is right under the coil, and I don't want to get any juice in it, I want it down in the well, and I also like to drip onto the long wicks to flush the gunk. Fortunately, the Achilles holds 2.5ml, so I don't have to do it very often; every few hours or so.

Thanks for the replies thus far. I'm using the 13 heavens 9 hells rda. While it does have a huge area to drip by just removing the drip tip I don't get as smooth a vape as I do by removing the entire cap. Maybe it's just my technique I need to improve. If i'm not careful I get juice on the air holes also but doesn't seem to be too big a problem.

Yeah it's pretty much the same thing as the Twsited Messes atty. if you want a better drip without having to pull off the whole chimney section with your airflow, throw on the wide bore derlin chuff cap, and all you would have to do is pull the derlin off to drip. No worries about the afc placement each time you drip

I'm using the medium cap but i'll experiment with the chuff cap and see how that goes too. Thanks :)

I would say that it depends on the Atty for most people. I use the Troll right now and I take the body off and drip her good and even on the coils and wicks. I get huge flavorful clouds like this. I see some videos where people just dump juice right into the drip tip and go about their day. I just like to see what I'm doing.

Chipotle.
You could call me a 'blind dripper' as I drip directly through the drip tip, all of my mods use 8mm or larger bore drip tips so dripping through them is quite easy, just arrange the wicks so that drops directly in the middle of the RDA saturates the wick on both sides and there's generally no problems. Using this method I've gone a few days without ever looking at my build/coils/wicks and just blind dripping.

From the bottom.

When I'm not squonking, I just take the drip tip out and blindly drip. Do you pack a lot of excess cotton in there? I usually have my wicks just long enough to touch the deck, that way I get a pool of eliquid in the juice well that finds its way to the wicks.
