i'd not spend $150 on the first thing i bought either, but something like a Spinner or Ego will keep you off the ciggies and you will recoup your outlay in a week.

That's why they are best for noobs. I do not recommend that new guys get Reos because they know too little and diving into RBAs and such without some knowledge is irresponsible and downright dangerous advice.

It's like anything else - start small and work up. Let's assume you have more money than sense and buy a Reo or two and a Provari or such. You then have some of the best mods but cannot fix leaking tanks or recoil a thing. Your failure will be magnified by the money you think you "wasted"!

Agree, but wish stuff at gas station and 7&11 wasn't so crappy and even more ego like. We live in a world of instant gratification and if that first shot isn't good then back to cigs for way to many.

I used to buy smokes by the carton (i'm sure many of you did as well). They were cheaper that way, and I'd be set for about a week. I was always amazed at the # of people who would buy just a pack or two . . . . . every day. As if tomorrow's smokes didn't exist, tomorrow didn't exist, and they wouldn't still be stuck buying cigs. I think its that ostrich-head-in-sand approach that makes the math more confusing.

In NY there are a chain of gold mines called Stewarts Bread and Butter Shops. They sell ice cream, milk, eggs, gas, bread etc. I'll be behind someone at the register and they'll be buying their two packs of smokes for $20 and lottery tickets. I'll have my Grand in my pocket and I actually want to grab them and tell them I can save them $6000 a year and improve their health. I want to follow them outside to their car and say "Hey buddy, I want to show you something." I never have but the urge is pretty strong sometimes.

Then again when people leave a shopping cart in the middle of and aisle in a grocery store then go into a trance, I want to say, " Have you no clue there are other people that inhabit the earth other than yourself." I haven't done that either. I think I'll start a new thread about pet peeves. It'll be therapy.

^^ Mmmmm Stewart's coffee is the best !!

Time, you have Stewarts in Binghampton? Around here you can give directions like this. Take a right at the Stewarts. Pass two Stewarts and take a right at the third one. Drive one mile and take the second left past Stewarts.

I disagree. New owners can use 1.5Ω disposable cartos and attys on a mechanical REO as easily and safely as on an eGo. Then they can graduate to an RBA.

Yup, depends on the person. I was a total noob to vaping before I got my Reos. I was so confused on which atties & resistance to start off with as well a juice type. I started off with 1.5 ohm Cisco atties & by week 3 I was using my first RBA, an A7. Before I purchased my two Reos all I previously vaped was two disposable ecig sticks from the local cig store.

I was about to give on Rebuildables because it was just too darned fiddly. I ran the gamut from sub-ohm to massive voltages, played around with wicks etc, etc. But when I heard of micro-coils here on ECF, life became simple. It wasn't just the fact that the coils last, and you can replace the wicks, and it wasn't even that the taste is so much better (which it is). No, it's because micros are so easy to build. Get your preferred gauge needle/drill-bit, grab your wire, twist x number of wraps, depending on ohmage and 20 seconds later you have a perfect coil that will last weeks and weeks. No more hot-spots, just an even burn.

Changed everything for me. I recommend micros to everyone I speak to. If I'd known about them when I started out, I would've started in rebuildable territory and never left. This is *easy* for newbies.
