How do you guys feel about the recreational vapers?

The way I see it there are two types of vapers:
1. ex-smokers who vaped to quit - I assume most of us
2. recreational vapers - people who vape, probably 0 nic, just cause they like the idea of vaping

The problem is that we are lumped together. Us ex-smokers swear by vaping as it is enabling us to live a healthier life.
We have alot at stake, if bans and regulations are enacted since we depending on ecigs to stop us from the cancer sticks.

The recreational vapers, not to stereotype people, just enjoy vaping and some of them are kids.
Some, not all, of the irresponsible behavior I see are often from recreational behavior. (vaping in public places like airports or public restrooms). They would be sad if bans were enacted but not devasted like us ex-smokers.

With the increasing popularity of vaping and ecigs, as it has become a cool thing to do now for non-smokers, the number of recreational vapers will also arise.
I am just afraid of this trend, as I feel this wonderful thing called vaping, is getting a bad reputation by a few.

I can't control what others do. Can only control & protect myself. Whatever the future holds I know I am good. Should have enough vape systems and all the fixings to last me for years to come. I know for a fact governments will get involved and at best, vaping will become much more expensive. Governments will want their cut of the action. Will be interesting to see where vaping is in five years from now.

I believe kids who take up vaping are less likely to take up smoking. There's no evidence showing they are going from ecigs to smoking, and I'm sure nicotine by itself is far less addictive than the cocktail of chemicals in cigarettes. I've been vaping 2 years at 12 mg and am finding it too strong now, so I'm about to drop down to 10mg.

Kids will always experiment, and vaping is pretty low risk.

This o'l world is full of all different kinds of people and that includes vapers. I never understood how some people only smoked when they drank or went to a party. Weird. You may or may not be addicted to nic. Vaping has been the only thing out of so many, that has worked for me. For what ever reason people have, if it's better for ya or if you enjoy it.........do it and wear a smile. :)

Basically, I agree with what the first two posters said - short and sweet. Can't stop 'em, but you can advise them - "Hey son/man/buddy, vaping in an airport lounge like this gives us a bad name." Or "Vape as much as you want, but a nicotine addiction is no fun."
No use working yourself up over something that you practically can't change...

Sorry to break in the middle of a thread but I have been off this board for a long time. I can't seem to find the button to start a new thread. Can someone help me?

Go to any forum (or sub) and you'll see "Post New Thread" prominently displayed in the upper left quadrant. You can't miss it. It's where you're currently seeing the one that says, "Reply to Thread".

The banning of vaping at the local, state and federal level has nothing to do with who or how anyone vapes. It never has and never will. It has to do with money, power and control. There are those in society and especially the federal government who believe they should dictate what non-harmful activities you should and should not be allowed to do. And they are also protecting certain powerful monied interests in this country.
