Constant fiddling with cartos is required. Sad thing is, even with "quality" cartos like Boge, consistency is nearly impossible to find. Getting very frustrating for me. Clearomizers at least give you a better idea of how much juice you have left. But then you fight wicking/leaking problems. Someday someone will come up with the ultimate solution. I just wish they'd hurry!!

Actually once I got the hang of filling them properly, good cartos are pretty much "fiddle-free" for me. Other than having to top off regularly anyway, and that's no big deal. As Ladypixel wrote in a previous post, there is a learning curve, and that applies to all aspects of vaping hardware & liquids AFAIK. For me the learning is a huge part of the enjoyment of it all, but we're all different and get into vaping with different expectations. I like to take the learning curve nice & slow because I don't want something that "just works", I want to know *how* it works. OTOH a lot of folks want something that as nearly as possible is a direct replacement for their tobacco cigarettes. That's understandable but unfortunate, because smoking and vaping are not the same thing. Those vapers who embrace the differences between vaping & smoking seem to find more pleasure in the experience than those who abhor those differences, but that's just the view from here.

Happy Vaping! :vapor:

" ... Boge cartomizers seem to be very well-regarded. With your 510, I think around 1.7 ohm should give you a good vape".

Well in a word, NO! Do Not run low resistance cartomizers on a cig-sized battery, you will probably destroy the battery or at the very least, drastically reduce its useful life. LR cartos and atomizers should not be run on batteries rated less than 450mAh bare minimum, or you're asking for trouble. I'd run nothing lower than a 2.5 Ohm carto on those batteries; you could probably get away with somewhat lower resistance but your batts will be in the battery graveyard a lot sooner.

Happy Vaping, Folks! :toast:

OK, slightly confused here. It does look as if I was off a little; many sites sell Boge low-res cartos for the 510, at 2.0 ohms, or regular resistance at 3.0 ohms. I'll own the .3 ohms.

What I'm not clear on is why the mah of the battery is a factor, since I thought that it was mainly voltage that had to be well-matched to the resistance of the atomizer. Lower voltage, lower resistance, higher voltage, higher resistance. Therefore, it seemed intutive that a 510 battery, that might drop to maybe 3.0 volts or so as it drains, should do well with a 1.7.

Anyone?
