At first I vaped constantly a couple of puffs a minute. Eventually it got to be 4 or 5 puffs and leave it alone for 5 to 20 minutes. I decreased my nicotine from 18 to 12. My vaping went up again. When it goes down again I decrease my nicotine down to 6.
vape as often and as much as you need to. Don't worry about how much at first. Most of us vaped constantly at first.

I must start to put mine down, I find first thing in the morning is the worst for me. I started at 36mg but I was a heavy smoker, and I smoked for 40 odd years. After a week I was down to 18mg. A couple more weeks later down to 14 and now 11. I am like you though, when I go down in nic my pv never leaves my hand

I chain vape when I'm in front of the computer(ECF is a contributing factor :D). I had to cut down on the nic because 18mg was just too much. Now I keep it between 9 and 12.

When I'm up and around doing something, occupying my time, I don't vape as much.

And I find with vaping I take more "puffs" in a row. Like 2 or 3 back to back. Didn't do that with cigs, it was one at a time. I don't get the same sensation with vaping that I did with smoking. Still trying to dial in the right amount of TH too.

I spend alot of time at the computer every day. Either working or gaming or surfing various forums. While at the computer I chain vape pretty heavily. What I did was accept that I do that and simply reduced my nic level down low so I don't make myself sick. I am down to 4 MG juice now and working my way down. At that low a level I don't worry about it and since I DIY juice costs are negligible.

I was a heavy smoker and chewer, pack a day and can a day usually. I probably take a drag or two on my vape every five to fifteen minutes, using 24mg liquid. Unlike many folk here, I don't actually mind my addiction to nicotine. I'm a big fan of stimulants, and am a pretty heavy user of caffeine as well. When smoking, I got used to smoking two or three cigarettes in a row, quickly, due to working in the restaurant industry and getting very few and very short breaks. So when I wasn't working, I would often smoke two or three cigarettes at a time, wait an hour or so, repeat. Vaping, I vape less at a time then I smoked, but more frequently.

Been vaping for 1.5 years and analog free for the same time. I have found that one of the advantages of PVs over analogs is that you don't have to light up and then take 10 or 15 puffs to finish the cigarette. With PVs, you can take a few puffs to satisfy yourself and then lay it down.

As a pack a day smoker, I would be lighting up a smoke every 45 minutes or so - with PVs, I might pick it up maybe every ten minutes (if I am not doing anything) and take few puffs. If I am busy with other activities, I may forget about it for an hour or so.

I have also decreased my nic content from 24 to 12 since I started vaping. I also believe that as time goes on, my actual addiction has decreased. From time to time, I will leave home and forget to take my PV. I am able to get by for an hour or so without it - this is something that I could never do when I was still on analogs - if I forgot my cigarettes, I would immediately go into a "nicotine fit" and wind up stopping somewhere and pick up a pack. What I am saying is that, for me, I believe that vaping is eventually going to be the means of completely weaning myself from nicotine (and smoking) entirely.

Good luck with your vaping experience.

I went backwards I guess. I started at 6mg/0mg. Went to 12mg to defeat that morning smoke. But vaping 6mg, I was chain vaping so, lightbulb moment, I got some 18mg which decreased the amount I vape. Then I was caught out and bought two Njoys... Bold (45mg) plain and menthol. I was soooo impressed and didn't want more than a few puffs on it so I decided to get erolls to try to vape more like I smoked... 15 minutes and back in the case. That little battery that feels more like a smoke is telling me when to stop and I like that. If I just HAVE to do the hand to mouth thing at the computer or on the phone its 0mg on my eGo.

I'm new to vaping & just quit smoking. using 18mg nicotine. I find myself just taking a few puffs when I wake up in morning, when I drink coffee, after I eat, sitting at desk working, pretty much same times as when I would light up a smoke - but I find most of the times a couple to a few puffs will work.

I learned that I needed to vape like I smoked because one thing the body gets used to and find the satisfying parts of smoking is the nicotine spikes it gets when you light up. Thats why wearing patches fail for so many people - its not a constant level of nicotine in the blood that is the experience but when that level spikes when you smoke the cigarette. Even though you keep some level of nicotine in your blood between times, as a smoker it always went up and down.

When I started I vaped exactly like I smoked, got the urge for a ciggie and picked up the ego, vaped for a bit and put it down. There came the problem because I discovered that I enjoyed vaping itself - the act not the nicotine and started being closer to what people call a chain vaper.

Problem with that is it keep a very constant level (probably close to that spiked level) in my blood so when my body wanted that satisfying 'spike' there was nothing there to give it and the urge for 'more' nic was there. Also I had some signs of over doing the nicotine such as slight nausea, lightheadedness, etc - the warning signs that you might be getting a tad toxic.

After a bit of research and learning this I was careful at first to stay in a very 'smoker' like pattern. Waiting time I wanted a vape, vaping and then walking away. That took care of the nicotine urges and gave me that satisfied feeling I got with analogs but now I missed vaping more often a great deal. I finally worked it out where I use a very low nic juice (0 - 6 mg) for my 'chain vaping' and when I get a need for nicotine picking up the device with the 24 mg juice in it and vaping a bit. Now I can enjoy the vaping as much as I want without making myself ill or putting myself in a position of wanting to hunt down an analog to more nicotine and then I can still get my nictone spike out of vaping that keeps me from going back to analogs
