Just curious on how people vape considering I am new to it. So I have a Triton and usually take 3-5 second drags while holding the button down the whole time...but I am also going through coils fast...3 in a week no and yes I am keeping the tanks at least half full.

Should I be holding the button down the whole time while I drag...not Like drag queen for you sick people... or is it better to hit the button and release numerous times while taking a drag?

Just curious on your style.

I press the button about 1 second before I inhale, like a primer puff, then about a 4-6 second draw, then I release the button. Always keep the button down while your taking your drag. I've been vaping about 2 weeks and haven't had to change not one coil yet. I haven't cleaned them either. I keep one flavor in it the whole time and just add that flavor juice when needed.

Maybe someone with more knowledge about the coils can help you with that, but you shouldn't be going through even one in a week.

I've had my system for 2 weeks and have not killed any coils. I take 3-5 second slow draws holding the button down the whole time. When I know I'm gonna change flavors in the tank I can get em down to 0.2ml without burning up. You just have to keep the wicks wet. I draw on it with the battery end slightly above level to keep the juice down by the coil wick. YMMV

You are using the standard unregulated Triton? 3-5 seconds on the button sounds about right. You should get a good solid drag and vapor production out of that. I always hold the button down half a second before I put it between my lips for a drag. The Triton cut-off is at ten seconds. Generally speaking you should never feel the need to take a drag that long to be satisfied. Everything Triton, from my experience, has been quick solid pulls. There is no delay in vapor with these top coils, unless there is a coil/wicking issue.

If below the full mark, it's imperative that you "roll" the tank between hits so that the wicks have substantial absorption. Keep the tops of them wet.

If you're going through a coil ever other day, that's a bit excessive. We need to know what juice you are using. Darker heavier juice tends to gunk up the coils far quicker than cleaner, more "simple" juices such as Mystic. I go through ONE coil on the mystic in the same amount of time I go through 3 coils on southern classic (which isn't even a dark heavy e-juice). For darker heavier juices such a Belgian cocoa, Tiki Juice, Twisted java, etc., the wicks will gunk up far quicker.

Hmmm maybe I am taking a dirty wick for a burnt one and changing coils to early. Thanks for your input gals and guys

There are lots of threads here on cleaning coils and on youtube. Get yourself some PGA or cheap vodka (don't want to waste your Grey Goose) to let your coils soak after a hot water rinse. I take off the condom from the coil assembly and gently pull out the coil wick a little bit and let em soak. Rinse off with some hot water (make sure you stop up your sink or else down the drain they go) and let em dry...

Keep the wicks wet, by flipping and twirling. You'll get the hang of it.

I lost 3 coils, in 5 months, so far. Usually with 3 second draws, although I occasionally push it longer, I've never hit the 10 second limiter (not for lack of trying!).

Thanks for the tip...I have been wetting the wick as much as I can

Thanks...maybe I am thinking a dirty coil is a burnt coil. I will try cleaning then better. As for juice primary juice is TriBeCa and then some other from halo like longhorn and Kringles Curse plus a couple juices from a local store as well.

A burned out coil will do absolutely nothing when you hit the button. :toast:

I guess my verbiage is wrong. When I empty a tank I see black/brown mark in the wick where the coil is. I know it should be discolored some but this is really dark so I was thinking it was burnt. Again this may be me being a noob though and it just may need some more cleaning

Yep. That's juice that has caramelized around the coil area, and is leeching back into the tank.

Cleaning time. I keep a few spare coils handy, for a quick swap.

If you don't clean that coil, it'll keep gunking up, and mute the flavors. Eventually, it'll burn out a coil.
