How does a bottom feeder work? I'm intrigued.

Hi Everyone:

I currently use a ProVari with a Vivi Nova 3.5ml tank and a 2.8 ohm coil. I'm intrigued by the comments on bottom feed devices. Does such a device use carto's? Do I just insert the juice bottle and install some type of atomizer? If so, what type? I apologize if this question has been beaten dead, but I did do a search and didn't find anything directly on point to my questions.

Cheers,
James Welborn

You can use cartomizers (at least with the Vmod). Or you can use atomizers. I think the REO an Bogger Box will more easily take RBAs and things like that. I only have a Vmod. The juice is carried in a bottle inside the device, and you screw on either an atomizer like this AMG Hybrid Bottom Feeder (2-pack) or you can use a cartomizer. Vapage makes a special cartomizer called the Silo for the Vmod, and it's much shorter and has lighter packing than a carto like a Boge would. I use them, and also the Smoketech "Super Shorty" cartomizers. (there is less polyfill taste with these short cartomizers). Anyway..you just prime your atomizer/cartomizer and vape. When the vapor gets less than optimum, you "squonk" and wet the coil by squeezing the bottle a bit. In the case of the Vmod, you tip the device a bit to do this. It's very easy. Don't have to refill anything for hours, and they don't leak or anything. I really like the bottom feeder concept. One of the least fiddly, fussy ways to vape there is, IMHO.

It's effectlively same as dripping, except you drip from the bottom instead of top. Just as with dripping, you can use atomizers, cartomizers, and rebuildables. Just have to make sure they're not sealed on the bottom.

Unlike dripping, bottom feeders does not require both hands and much attention. So it's like dripping that you can do while driving :)
