How does the Cyclone compare with the RM2 ?

What a bummer! Well, if they don't make any more of em, you know they are cranking out new stuff all the time. There are more folks with Reos and other BF mods every day, so surely there are some manufacturers out there who want some of that action!

Seriously... I almost figure it's just a matter of time until bottom feeding gets more popular, and thus more atty choices- the origen has a conversion kit, and there are all kinds of rumors about the zenith getting one, but so far... not so many options.

On the flipside, excited for a new vicious ant bottom fed rba...

Wow. Mountain Oak Vapors had 51 cyclones the other day and now they are gone. Hope all the REOnauts that wanted one got one.

I ordered at 3:30PM CST and the site said 2. So I guess I got the 2nd to the last one!!!

I really hope their inventory counts are in line with the website! It was at 33 when I first saw this thread on Saturday!

Rats. I've been following this thread and was going to get one ordered Friday....well, I guess I won't now. I'm enjoying my RM2 though. I just redid my coil to a .9 from a 1.5 and she's rockin pretty good! I get my SO kit Thursday and I'll take her down to .6, which is my favorite setting. Pauly3, you ought to just try it out once to see if you like it.

What gauge and how many wraps? I have a DarkZero jig with 1/16" and 5/64" mandrels.

Man... I hope nothing happens to my cyclone if I love it, because it looks like finding a replacement will be no easy feat. I ordered one from mountain oak on Sunday, and I believe there were 5 left at the time- which is one of the biggest reasons I went for it. I think one of the biggest reasons that bottom feeding hasn't gotten as popular is that bottom feeders kind of fall into the high performance segment of the market, as they only really make sense with rebuildable attys- and this market segment is all about the sub ohm ATM- which was very limited territory until now (with Pdib's oliver and the new Reo upgrades). I know a guy with probably over 1k in mechs and drippers, who says he has been planning to get a Reo but has been waiting for the bottom feeding posts for his zeniths. Kind of a chicken and egg problem now.

With your 5/64 mandrel, or approx 2mm, use 28ga, try 4 wraps. Should get about .6 microcoil. There is a cool coil building calculator As always, read your coils before firing. I build on my ohm checker and constantly check. Going lower ohms to me, gives almost instantaneous vape, a warmer vape and more intense flavor. It's not for everyone, but give it a try :)

Received my VA Cyclone today and put my first build on it! Built just like my RM2 to see the similarities and differences in taste, draw, building, squonking and draining.

I am very impressed with this little guy... it is very small as it is just a tad smaller than an RM2.

My Summary (YMMV):
Taste = Exactly the same as RM2
Draw = It is airy than RM2
Building = Easier to build than RM2
Squonking = Easier to squonk than RM2
Draining = Drains better than RM2

Overall I'm happy with this RBA and happy with my purchase. It's NOT extremely better than the RM2 and may not be worth you spending an additional 60.00 if you are happy with your RM2. I will be building a lower ohm coil and that may be where the true difference kick in although I don't have a SO kit and can't vouch for those setups... yet!
