I wash my bottles as I use them. I just shake out the excess water and mix my juice. Bottles that contain the same juice every time never get washed just refilled. If you mix and seed steep you never want to wash the bottles. In fact you want to mix with 10% of the old stuff still left in the bottle.

I wash them, shake, and turn them upside down on a paper towel for a few minutes and then turn them open end up to air dry. The next morning they are clear and dry.

I like Danny's answer that steeping occurs faster if you leave 10% of the old juice in the bottle and make the same recipe again. I'm still testing flavors and have only a couple in a DIY session that are the same as last time.

Ooh, excellent idea. And I can make more juice now that I know I can mix old and new!
