I currently use DCTs that have polypropylene tanks rather than the cheaper polycarbonate tanks that so many people seem to have a problem withwhen using certain liquids. I have been using the same tanks for at least a year without a single problem.

However, I am taking the plunge in to provari land and want a couple of better quality ss tanks to compliment my new, much better quality mod. It seems that my options are polycarbonate or pyrex.

At work, half the floors are ceramic tile. At home, half the floors are ceramic tile. I rarely drop my pv, but it seems that when I do, it's on the ceramic tile. But I can't seem to be able get a nice ss tank with polypropylene.

I am worried about the liquid-associated issues with polycarbonate, but I am more worried that a pyrex glass tank would be shattered in no time with all the tile floors around me.

So my question is - how easily do the glass tanks break?

Part of my concern is the weight of my pv. I use a ProVari with extended cap. It makes a heck of an impact when I drop it. Loved these floors when we put them in (and still do) but they are hard as concrete. And I am 100% clutz. Thank you for your feedback you gave. I appreciate it.

With the provari, you might just crack the tile before you crack the tank! lol

Hi Serendipity,

I use Ibtanked and Phiniacs on my Provari mini and I dropped my Pink mini for the first time the other day ( on a big piles of jagged rocks getting out of my car) first time it was not in my sleeve/lanyard of course! Anyway I had a Ibtank on it and everything is fine not even the slightest crack but my Provari now has two tiny war wounds. I love it even more ... Has character now :)

I've dropped a Phiniac on a saltillo floor...tank survived, mod didn't.

I had to google this lol. Very nice floor plus I learn a new word.

I've only had Phiniacs and they are extremely strong. One time I had to launch one at a gypsy during an argument at Richard Grieco's place in Anaheim. I was on the 2nd floor and it ended up on the first by the pool where there is cement and not a scratch. God bless you Phiniac.

I'll agree about not all pyrex glass is created equal. The notoriety of the Phiniacs are legendary, no further questions on their durability need be asked.

I have dropped my Provari and IBTanks onto the asphault of my driveway while getting out of my car. (I have a bad habit of laying it on my lap while I drive; laying it on the passenger seat allows it to roll out of my reach during turns and I go :-x ). This has happened at least twice, and no damage to the tanks or the Provari.

The Provari and IBTanks have also rolled from a locker room bench onto a tile floor a couple of times - no problems. However, this has happened to another vendor's glass tanks on my Silver Bullet, and both times these two tanks shattered to pieces. The tank name or vendor will not be named here. The vendor must have seen my disappointment here, and kindly sent me a free tank to try out, stating that he had recently changed his glass supplier and wanted my approval I guess. I have not had the opportunity to test this tank out by dropping it onto a tile floor, and don't plan to either if I can help it.

To the OP, there is the option of the Who's Your Daddy and Lil Moma tanks from Big Daddy Vapor. These are primarily all-metal, heavy aluminum tanks with what I would imagine are polypropylene juice windows. The vendor says that they have tested to be safe for all juices. They come in several anodized colors, too. They look pretty darn sharp on a Provari.

Phiniacs are definitely touted as the toughest tanks out there, but they are pricey.

IBT tanks are the cheapest, especially for the replacement tubes; and, from my personal experience,
have survived many drops onto tile and asphalt.

I recently was in a rather bad car accident, and the IBT tank was sitting loose in between the seats.
I found it later underneath the back seat and it was fine.
The surprising survivor was the Siam tank sitting on a SB in my shirt pocket.
The mod went flying at impact and I found it sitting on the floor in the back. The mod had a couple
new dings and the carto was bent at about a 30 degree angle, but the Siam tank was intact and
hadn't even leaked.
