It helped me quit a pack a day habit for about 5 years. Started with those disposable logic cigs, went to them ego cigsand broke a few of those beforei realized I needed something sturdier so now I have an svd and couldn't be happier off analogs. I smell better, definitely looks better and I feel like a million bucks health wise. Would never touch another death stick with Akua as my witness.

Mahalo keep Akua

It's not so much that electronic cigarettes helped me, it's more like I helped myself to electronic cigarettes.

One of my distant cousins was complaining on Facebook recently that she was a smoker and got winded after shoveling snow. I suggested she try a good-quality e cig. She replied "They blow up". I pointed out that houses burn down, and cars crash, but she still lives in a house and drives a car. Nothing.

Some people just don't want to help themselves. E cigs are only a tool for those of us that do.

I smoked for 26 years at least a pack a day. My first week with no analogs I wore a nicotine patch because I really wasn't sure the e-cigs were gonna work. Well after that I dropped the patch and have been vaping ever since. I first started out on 18mg. After about 6 months I dropped to 9mg. But I've found that although some flavors are fine at that level, other flavors need more nicotine for me. This March will be 2 years vaping without one puff of an analog. I think the key is to experiment for yourself and see what works for you.

vaping has been very effective for me. I smoked 43 years, and for at least 20 of those years I was smoking 2 or more packs a day. Full strength. I tried several "smoking cessation" methods...all failed. I didn't think I'd EVER be able to quit, but did want to. Anyway, back in 2011 I first heard about "e-cigs" and after looking around a bit online I tried a "cig-a-like" kit from one of the (then) major vendors. From my first vape this 43 year die-hard smoker was a convert. Stopped smoking then and there. That isn't the case with everyone, but it surely was for me. I used the cig-a-likes (with cartos) for about 3 months then "graduated" to the eGo sized PVs. Stayed with them for another 9 months or so then started going "mod crazy"...buying all sorts of things: variable voltage, VV and variable wattage, box mods, bottom feeders, etc. Had a good time but it was expensive. I went from just cartomizers to carto-tanks to clearomizers...then back to carto-tanks with a little side dabbling with RBAs. My first kit was 18mg. I started easing down on my nicotine slowly over a year and have worked down to 3mg now (been at 3.5 to 3 mg. since summer of 2012).

Last October I went back to my old eGos on a whim...and found that I liked them with my 2ohm cartomizer tanks...so I stayed. I still have all my fancy mods and such, but just prefer to use the ego style PV now. It simply works for me. I ONLY use carto tanks now. I have been a non-smoker for 28 months.

Tip: if you have trouble sleeping when you are vaping, try cutting down the strength of your nicotine a hour or two before bedtime. It helps, as nicotine is a stimulant.

I started vaping in November of last year and have not picked up a cigarette since. I got it into my head that vaping was more logical - it was giving me what I needed, but with none of the "crap" that comes with cigarettes. I literally convinced myself and repeatedly told myself that vaping "was the future". It worked, and is working to the day.

I started on a ego (non variable) with a clearo tank and some 24mg liquid. Even the "nasty" liquid tasted better then the stinkies (I smoke them all, waste not want not, just choose better next time etc)

People are different though, it's not a -problem- if people ease off the ciggies into vaping, it's all about finding what works for you I suppose.

Vaping is far superior to me now, than smoking. This may be the self induced brain washing finally working, or vaping the right liquid on the right gear for you simply IS better than smoking...I don't know, everyone is different.

Finding the juice is the hard bit, the stuff that you will go to daily and love. I think this will inevitably change over time too (especially since my sense of taste gradually improved) - I find stuff I loved I now hate, and vice versa.

It's an interesting journey so far.

:D

That is why you need a backup battery! I have a backup for my backup. There is no way I am going to have a regular cig in my mouth again! It has taken months to flush out all the nasty chemicals.
I am determined to win this battle!

after almost 3 weeks of vaping i can only recommend to get you enough from "everything" - in case you have to quit smoking...
enough liquid and enough "battery" to bring you through the day...

i feel the nicotine withdrawal much at the moment, and cant vape most of the day, as the battery life is just a few hours.. im compensating by sucking on a textmarker... while the vv3 is charging...

Before my e-cig I smoked roughly a pack a day for 6-7 years, I had my last cigarette on July 19th 2013 only days after starting my e-cig. As of Sunday it will be 6 months since I've had a single cigarette and I feel amazing. In the first three or four days of purchasing my e-cig I had first four cigarettes, then the next day three, and then two until finally I didn't even want one period. My e-cig has tremendously helped me and I've never wanted to turn back. Good luck on your journey and remember you can do it! You will not regret it or miss it at all once you get passed the initial change.

I've been telling this story now for anyone who will listen. Smoked for 32 years steady, tried all the stuff to quit many times and failed all of them..
This fall I watched a store open and the sign said Liquid Smoke, I was wondering what the heck is this. Well went in and got set up with a ego kit with a few types of juice. I never intended to quit, but it WORKED, Today is 57 days in without the cigarettes. My wife ( non smoker) is happy, I smell better, I feel better and I'm excited for this to be part of my life.
I encourage you to stick it out and do what it takes to be part of the vape community

it's really nice to be with the people around here..need more advice about that..

I wanted to know from people who started as new to E cig ,how much amount which needed you to get rid of smoking. I've not totally out from cig..but want balance a little of both and then after some time onto e-cigs fully. What you guys think about that..
please Share your methods and how affective has it been?

Thanks guys!!

I started vaping on Christmas day 2013. My first vape was a generation 1 Smokenv brand with disposable cartridges and being legaly sold in Oz of course it was nic free. My partner bought it for me for Chrissy. I liked the flavour of the only cartridges available but it did nothing for my nic addiction :(. Ok, The instructions said that this cartridge is not refillable and to do so was forbidden. Excuse me, forbidden by whom?

Ok, I did a bit of surfing around on the net and soon learned how to refill these cartridges with success although some what messy and time consuming using a 1ml syringe and a very fine gauge hypodermic needle it was a slow process. I got about 10 refills per cartridge before the inbuilt coil gave up. I sourced some 16mg e-juice Cigar flavour from a neighbour who at the time imported it from New Zealand. This certainly helped with the nic withdrawals.

I have now progressed to a generation 2 device as I found the previous one just did not have the battery life to last me the whole day as I was a heavy smoker 40 16mg coffin nails per day. Furthermore the vapour in the generation 1 e-cig was very poor and not all that satisfying even with the nic juice. The unit I use now the battery lasts me two days before a recharge is needed and all it cost me was $27 AUD from a local supplier. The down side is that this model the coil is not replaceable and you discard the clear tank with the coil which lasts about a month. Not a problem as the replacements are only $7.00 AUD the model type is a C4 knock off. Since then I have ordered a Atomiser with replaceable coils from another local supplier.

Now as stated, I have been vaping since Christmas day, and have managed to obtain samples of e-juice with various nic strengths from N.Zealand and friends. At the time of writing this reply I am happy to report that indeed Vaping has helped me tremedously as I am now vaping nic free juice with only the occassional craving for nic maybe once in a two day period and then I only use a 2mg brew. I fully endorse the Vapes and will openly declare to all that they were and are a definite aid to assist me in ceasing to smoke tobacco. I have had a heated debate with our local health nannies who advised me that if I was caught with a non approved nic preperation in my possession I could be arrested and fined. To this ninny not nanny I gave my address and told him to send the fuzz as I am happy to do jail time rather than pay the fine. The interesting point being that we are legally allowed to import nic juice form o/s in three month batches (how you calculate this I have no idea) but this ninny tells me I can get busted for it if I have it in my possession the same as Grass or other prohibited drugs. What a load of cods whalop and I told him so.

So there you have it, yes I will continue vaping and love the placebo multi flavoured juices available but I will only buy one brand and that being FEELLIFE as it has a listing of ingredients used in it. I have since learned how to make my own, but my family has three other vapers still need the nic. Yes I have experimented with nic extraction from tobacco and successfully however I am somewhat sceptical as was pointed out to me by others that by the steeping method one cannot be totally certain what one extracts and it is also highly dangerous to do so. All I say to those that want to quit smoking yes Vaping is definitely the answer and if you want to continue to use nic-juice that is your choice, I am now after a very short period thanks be to God and the Vape nic free.

I'm on day 10 and finding the changes coming fast and furious. Smoked 1+ packs a day for 26 years, and a mad coffee addict to boot. I bought the e-cig as a supplement as well for times when it was a pain to go outside for my fix.
Took a few puffs off the e-cig right after I bought it - then lit up a cigarette. The vape tasted much better, I put out the cigarette and that was it. Lit up a smoke for old time sake a few days ago and wanted to puke at the taste.

My caffiene addiction is gone with no headaches, which blows me away. It's 2 pm and i've had one cup, usually by now i'm on my second pot. Taste buds are kicking in, my sense of smell is raging, I don't smell like smoke anymore, it's incredible after only 9 days.

Hello
For me I did it on Mistic cig alike and it was hard , when I switched to an ego and upped the nicotine to 36mg/ml the stress was gone .
I set out to quit and with out e-cigaret I would never ben able to quit smoking .
Tried every thing the patch the pills the inhaler and thy didn't help much the pills just made me sick and a little nuts lol

I'd tried the NJoy last year, but it gave me no joy.

In an effort to save some dough, and after seeing a very quickly increasing number of people vaping on the street here, I picked up an eGo Twist and some 24mg juice. After 28 years, overnight I immediately became a non-smoker.

After a week, my disposable tanks crapped out, so I moved to a Kanger Mini Pro II. The problem was that at first I couldn't figure the thing out (yes, I now know it's quite simple), but had to smoke an analog. I could barely get halfway through the thing, it was SOOO heavy and harsh and rather brutish in comparison. I figured out the tank issue, and since then, not a single analog. What's more significant is that it'll be too soon if I never smoke another analog ever again. And this after a pack a day for 28 years. This is a miracle. I'd always stayed in pretty good physical shape, but now it's all even better - no cough, clear lungs, etc.. And no smell, and even with the up-front hardware costs, still saving significant cash.

This is like going from coal to natural gas overnight. I have stayed with the 24mg mix, because it is a pleasant little jolt, or even better, a pleasant big jolt with an adult beverage or three.

An issue, and a fun one at that, was how to pair the juice with red wine. The mint was fine during the day, but with red wine, and most food for that matter, not so much. I now have a lightly sweetened tobacco flavor that goes wonderfully with the vino, and tastes very lightly of maple syrup.

I'm also not into the huge plumes of vape (just the nicotine please), but this is all also so much more pleasant than analogs on many levels.

I'd also the thought of a possible pairing chart with different cocktails, i.e. find some savory herbal juices that would go with infused simple syrup gin cocktails, for example. It seems that this could be fertile ground for the hardcore beer geeks (no shortage of those around here); pair the brew with the juice.
