How fast are you burning out clearo heads?

Ozzy, do you clean them and dry burn them? I've had a couple Novi heads and eGo-C atomizers that stopped working, and with an ultrasonic cleaning in cheap vodka and a dry burn, they've all come back to life. They taste like crap for a bit, but eventually settle in. I plan on trying a Kanger T3 and am curious how they respond to cleaning. I suspect they'll be good to go just like the other's I've cleaned.

You should clean them.... I've been using 1 clearomizer since I got my kit till date. Its my intention to use it till it burns out so I get a sense of how long each one will last for me. My clearos hold 1.6ml of juice and I full it about once on an average day and say about one and a half to two times on a busy vaping day.

I don't clean with alcohol or anything, just halfway fill them with warm water and shake, drain and repeat till the water comes out clear no matter how much shaking you do and the wicks are clear in color again. Then I dry burn them untili can see the red of the coil. Refill, let sit for a while then prep burn for a couple of seconds and you should be good to go again.

I'd say I get about 3-5 full tanks with my T3 (depending on juice) before the flavor starts getting muted. And that is with replacing the wick and dry burning about every other tank. At this point I just rebuild the head.

I run 3.7 to 4.0 V and 2.0 to 2.4 Ohms.

I get about a week before i need to cleean em.. then they're good to go..
I clean with water, then dry the wick by placing on a paper towel then "dry burn" until I see the coils..
rinse, let dry overnight and it should be good to go once again.
The funky taste / poor vapor production is due to burnt on juice gunking up the coil.

I went almost 5 weeks with a 2.4ohm head in my mini-nova. That's with cleaning/dry-burning every 2-3 tanks or change of flavours. (about every 3-4 days) I usually run around 3.6-4.6 volts depending on the juice which are from 70/30 to 50/50 pg/vg. The only reason I changed the head was that the wick was starting to disintegrate from all the cleanings. I'm just over 2 weeks now on a Kanger T3 (2.5ohm I think) using the same juices & cleaning schedule with no issues so far.

About the glowing coils, I just put the head on the base piece without the tank/grommet/cap so it is easy to see the coil when dry-burning. I always turn my twist down to about 3.4v when dry-burning so I'm less likely to overheat it. Haven't popped one yet. (Knock on wood!)

I started w/ 2.2 ohm heads on egoC w/ clearo - lasted 3 weeks or more, I wanted to try 1.8 ohm but local shop only had 1.5 ohms... I've managed 1 - 2 weeks (mostly about 10 days) max - but I am a chain vaper too. I've now ordered some 1.8 ohm online and just switched to one last night so we'll see how long the last (I have also switched mostly from 60/40 to 80/20 PG/VG.

I get 5 -6 weeks on a Nova head with no cleaning at all. I just refill as needed and vape away. I run through about 4 - 5 ml of juice a day between 5 tanks, so about 1 ml of juice per tank each day on average. Weekends are a bit heavier but I use each tank every day as I get bored with flavors quickly.

I've done that. I don't get the "until you see the coils glow" thing. I can't see that on the vids I've watched.
Where do I look when doing it?

I'm always afraid of burning the thing up.

CE4 that you have is the nonreplaceable head. If that is true, then with pliers, grab spike and silicon cap and pull out. This is after you unscrewed the mouthpiece. After you do that, if you look down into the clearomizer, you'll see the wick and wrapped around it a coil. YOU want to have this empty, washed out with water and i would let dry for a couple hours. Then after its dry, attach it to battery. Then looking at coil press button for 5 seconds, off 5 seconds, press 5 seconds, off 5 seconds. Do this till no smoke comes out. You should after it stops smoking, be able to see the coil get red. Do it again for 5 seconds. The idea is to clean the gunk off. There is no better way. Your not going to burn the coil out, if fact, youll have a better/cleaner coil for much longer by doing this often.....depending on the juice and how quickly your coil gets gunked. After dry burning I clean with water again and let dry overnight. Ive been doing this every 3-7 days since June and have NOT ruined a coil yet. Hope that helps. There's videos on youtube somewhere.
