I've been vaping for over 4 weeks now, and kept smoking a few analogs for the first few weeks, 2-4 a day. Last Wednesday I forgot to take my 2 analogs to work and didn't miss them. I've not had an analog since then. Even today, I am having battery issues, only have one operational, and it is charging so I could have an analog, but decided I would rather wait 30 minutes of charging to have a few vapes before bed.

Like several others here I quite the day I bought my first kit. Had about a pack of 27's left and mixed those in with the e-cig that day it was purchased. Toward the end of the day and the last of the 27's, I found the 27's started tasting nasty. That night I had my last one. That was in mid-Feb of this year. The next day... no problem, other than reaching for the lighter and also noticing the lack of tobacco smell everywhere. The lack of smell was probably the most noticeable thing after quitting for a few days actually. Another thing within a few weeks of quitting was the respiratory improvements, and I also don't have to by chewing gum to cover the that smell up anymore.

I'm probably going to go out and have my last one now, after having an eGo-T for a couple of weeks, and an anny-like kit for a week before that. It took a week to figure out the wick-mod on the T, and another to figure out decent diy (new diy'ers: you must add a percentage of vg to get some vapor!! I'm at +/- 15%, and have a decent amount, now...). I know this anny will taste like poo, and give me a film in my mouth that also tastes like poo, and the smell... I'll probably only smoke some of it, and then chuck it. Pretty sure this'll be my last one-- definitely sure that this is my last pack, and I've hardly touched them for a week! after 20 years, that's friggin' amazing, ya know?

Cheers to all!

27 years at 2 packs a day. Went and bought a disposable 510 pack at a local gas station (at 20 bucks- madvapes has em for 10 LOL). Had 2 analogs the next day, 1 in the morning the following and haven't looked back. Been about 2 weeks now and I have ZERO desire for an analog.

Just ordered a bunch of 510 batteries- I burn through a BUNCH of juice a day. I'll vape constantly when I'm awake LOL

I had never tried a PV when I ordered mine, so didn't really know what to expect. I set out a plan for myself to taper down analog use over about two months. Turned out that I liked vaping a lot more than I expected to, and quitting was easier than I thought it would be. I guess I got my kit about three weeks ago, and I had my last cigarette two days ago. I probably could have stopped a bit sooner pretty easily, but I had some analogs left in my last pack, so I let myself keep having one or two a day until they ran out. I never thought quitting could be so painless... or actually enjoyable.

i quit the day i got my ego.

developed a polyp on my vocal cord that I have to have surgically removed. I had to stop smoking tobacco two weeks before surgery to make sure it healed properly .

don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but nicotine can cause major problems with the body's healing process. therefore, unless you're vaping zero nicotine e-liquid, you're still going to be putting yourself at risk after surgery.

I quit smoking 4/11/11 at 4:11am had only played with my PV before that but had it ready to roll. Been vaping exclusively since then. There were a few tough days at the beginning but I managed not to turn back to cigarettes. So far so good, 8 weeks later. :D

My story is similar...timing was everything and our (mine and hubby's) 510s came in right as we were finishing our packs. We smoked our last cigs while our batteries charged. Day 3 was rough for me... my throat felt numb and I couldn't taste....was getting zero satisfaction from vaping but I was determined. Also for about two weeks I had this empty feeling from not being able to light it (silly I know but I got a certain satisfaction from flicking my Bic). Beyond that I have not missed it not one bit. I got my ego yesterday and now its even better. It has been two months today.

after 30+ years on analogs..started e-cig 3 months ago but only gave up analog a month ago..i did not think i can as i am habitual smoker..but with this forum and know how i can relate to members/veterans and admins for support..now strictly on vaping, happily

This forum is really amazing and for me has been a very important part of the process.
I love this thread! Everyone is doing so great. ecigs really are a miracle.

I know for me they are. I wasn't dying or anything but I got shortness of breath easily, bronchitis several times a year... and I was pretty much resigned that I was never ever going to quit smoking even though I really wanted to... Presto e-cig! I thank God every day for this amazing little invention.

I loved reading the stories on this thread....yep read every single one and I'm subscribing to it too. :p

With the idea of quitting smoking fully, I ordered my bloog maxfusion started kit from a canadian vendor online. The first day I had it I was completely impressed. I only had a few cigarettes after that to compare an analog and vaping. It has been a little over a week now and I do not crave cigarettes at all. Shortly after I received this kit I wanted the PCC for my KR808D-1 battery so I charge while being mobile. I actually called up bloog and they were able to ship me one it passed through customs no problem. I will be ordering from them again very soon as they had blank cartomizer's you can buy in bulk of 10, 25, 50. Not to mention the first manual battery that the button is actually close enough to the filter to feel like a real cigarette Overall I am satisfied with this purchase. I have noticed the lack of KR808D cartomizers with canadian vendors online. I think I am going to order and 901 > 510 adapter and then have no issues getting supplies. Or I may just order directly from bloog again.

Cheers,

I might as well throw in my .02Cdn. and report that my analog quit was instant which quite surprised me. After being a devoted smoker for far more many years than I'd care to think about, I have not touched any tobacco in the two weeks since I purchased my eGo/eGo-T hardware and have not had a single craving that vaping won't immediately eradicate. I'm already feeling the benefits in that my lungs are clearer and I breathe more deeply and easily than when I was smoking, as well as the senses of taste and smell are coming back quite rapidly. E-cigs are the best thing to happen to me in a long time:vapor:

Interesting range of experiences!

My husband and I tried disposable e-cigs while on vacation last year. We were staying with family who didn't smoke and wouldn't allow smoking in the house, and it was cold outside. We'd been wanting to try e-cigs anyway, so it seemed like a good time to do so. We weren't really sure if we'd really like them or not, but when we got home from vacation, my husband ordered one 510 starter set and began using it in the evenings instead of smoking. Two weeks later, we were both convinced it was worth it to switch completely for the health benefits alone, and we ordered another starter set for me.

Mine arrived on a day when I was running out of smokes, so I finished that pack, fired up the 510, and never looked back. There was a couple of days of fumbling with getting used to it, but I didn't experience any cravings for a real smoke or any of the negative effects I'd seen all the times I tried to quit smoking before, so I was happy. That was way back in October, and I'm pleased to say, I haven't lit up an analog since the day I picked up the 510, and ... I feel so much better these days!

We're both convinced these things have saved our lives. My husband was a two pack (or more) a day smoker, and my life was getting more stressful and I was working my way up to those levels. We were both starting to feel it in the lungs after decades of smoking, and since we aren't spring chickens anymore, concerns about dying prematurely or having to deal with emphysema for the rest of our lives was beginning to be a worry. But no more hacking, wheezing, or getting out of breath around here anymore! Seriously, e-cigs saved our lives. I am so glad they were invented. LOL!

Also, the bank balance is much happier too, because wow, vaping is much cheaper than smoking!

it wasnt easy though, i vaped like a madman,24mg, on a small 180amh battery kit, i would vape the battery dead ,even before the one in the charger was ready, i went nuttz. got online and was able to get a more powerfull battery ecig kit ,not just one kit either, 20 kits it was, wnted to make sure i had plenty of battery back-up.i settled down after a month of using the e-cig,
I just didnt want to go back to smoking ciggys no matter what.
i'm good now.

Substitute a KR808/carto starter kit for your 510/carts<?> and your experience was exactly the same as mine, chain vaped the battery dead, had to wait for the other to finish charging. I had to force myself to slow down, saved up some cash for a RIVA kit and has been smooth sailing since then.

Last smoke was also on my way to the postman to pick up my 808.... Jan 31, 2011

I was an instant quit as well. I think this is a miracle. I tried quitting a million times, using every gimmick. I started smoking in my early twenties and never went more than a few days without a smoke. Now, I was never heavy smoker. I topped out at a half to three-quarter pack a day habit.

The day I switched to vaping, I never looked back. The first few days were easy. I had some urges later in that week, but nothing like past experience. Now, I don't think about it. My sense of smell has returned and I now find cigarette smoke unpleasant. I used to love the smell of smoke.

About 6 weeks total...I had no real expectation of quitting after 32 years of addiction but I got a convenience-store PV (Njoy) to take along on a trip. It was going to be a 5 hour non-stop bus ride with a bunch of non-smokers. Was hoping to avoid any nicotine fits! Tried the PV and found that it really helped for the entire weekend. Just recharged it at the hotel. I was quite surprised how well it worked! Smoked only half as many cigs as usual so I got another kit...smoked less and less for the next 6 weeks and was able to just quit completely once I got my eGo.

Enjoy!
