The title speaks for itself :p

I've only been vaping for about a month now and I'm already considering upgrading, but I'm not sure if I should this early on. The only bad thing I can see about the nicstick is the battery life, but I have ways around that. They're cheap and work pretty good. But are these other e-cigs I see and read about any better as far as actually getting the nicotine into my system? I understand there are those that can hold more and have batteries that can last 3 times as long, but I don't have a lot of money right now, so those are problems I can deal with. If I get an ego or a blu, am I going to be satisfied with the general feeling of vaping, or is it pretty much the same as a nicstick?

I plan on upgrading eventually anyway, but I can hold off for much, much longer if I know whether or not other branded e-cigs work just as well to get the vape from point A to point B as the nicstick does.

As far as satisfying vaping goes, it's mostly about voltage (including voltage regulation), the cartomizer or atomizer, and the juice you are using. The difference in connections (i.e. 510 vs KR8) can change the feel of the vape somewhat (i.e. the airiness). The battery itself pretty much determines how long you can vape, what resistance of atomizer or cartomizer you can use, and if you get a typical all inclusive battery, the voltage and regulation.

how much are the nic sticks exactly? and what kind of threading are they... i had a riva for a long time and loved it, really isn't that expensive like 40 bucks for the kit, was way better then the 808 i'd been using,

My nicstick starter kit was only $25, but the only thing it came with was the nicstick, a USB plug in, and 3 carts of menthol juice. It's a 510. I'd have to say it works pretty darn good, but it's the only thing I've ever used, so I don't know xP

thaught you ment you were interested in the nic stick.. but an upgrade is deffinetaly worth it, if you can afford it, a riva would be more satisfying then an ego because of the voltage and slightly higher battery life, or just go str8 to a mod like an e-power or no-ego, a 14650 e-power is about as much as a riva

Well, I don't know. If the nicstik is doing it for you, then stay with it until it's not. When you can afford it, I definitely recommend going to an Ego or Riva 510.

The Blu is ok, but that is not an upgrade from the nicstick.

Thanks for the advice! I like the cool designs and everything I see and I want something more powerful, but it's more of a want, not a need. For the moment, the nicstick has been doing well for me. But thanks for the tip on the blu. I was considering trying one of those since it is pretty inexpensive and has the same shape and all.

Definitely sounds like something I should look into. Where did you get your riva?

You can get an Ego or a Riva 510 from here: E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings

Click on the 20% discount button before you put it in your cart. Probably can get a Riva 510 for around $39 plus s&h. Get the juice elsewhere tho.

E-power is probably pretty good too, but you only get one. With the Ego or Riva starter kits, you actually get two complete E-cigs. That includes charger, and a couple attys, 2 batteries.

I would defiantly suggest an Epower over a Riva or Ego. You get 2 batteries with the Epower kits, thus it is the same as getting an Ego starter kit with 2 batteries. The epower kits can be had for around $40, and the batteries are replaceable (a huge plus over the riva an ego). I have bought a lot of crap since starting 2 months ago, and for the money, you cannot beat an epower (for a mod in the $40 range).

color doesnt make a difference other then well.... the color it is, the se kit does come with 2.0 ohm atty's compared to normal resistance but since u've been on a small battery with normal resistance it wont be a problem, you deffinetaly wont regret it though :) crazy battery life compared to a slim

Well, that's what I was referring to. I don't really know the difference between titanium color and steel color xP but I looked them up and went with titanium. I'm in MS. Any idea how long it will take to reach me from where they ship? I had it sent to my girlfriend's address, because my mailbox is busted at the moment and the only place they can reroute it to is my parents' business or home. Not going to happen.. I trust my girl with my stuff over my parents, especially since they've been on my ... about "smoking" since I was 18 xP they won't understand the difference though. They're old-fashioned. What looks worse to an old-fashioned parent that's against smoking? A pack of cigs, or a vaping collection that looks similar to a .... lab or something? Bahaha xD

And yeah, I think I'm going to be a lot happier with the battery life in this one. My brother owns a nicstick as well and doesn't really understand why I want to "go out of my way with this vaping thing", so I'm just going to give him my old nickstick stuff so that he doesn't complain about his battery life either. Everyone wins xD

Wow. I saw this kinda late but I'm commenting anyway. Others may read it. Good luck on your order.

Basically, the nicostick is a DIY e-power. In other words.... 3.7 volts. They usually have a big button on them since most people don't build a mosfet into them... but they have a 900 mAh battery if you use 14500's. I build them for $8.00. lol.

The slim battery e-cigs, and to a different extent, the fat-bat commercial stuff (eGo, Riva, ...) are pulsed regulated to 3.2 or 3.4 (maybe close to) 3.7 volts (for the Riva).

Nico sticks are great. Back when I vaped below 5 volts, that's what I used rather than eGo/Riva stuffis. $8.00 with replaceable batteries can't be beat except in the looks department. And there's ways around that too. OTOH, e-power is a more finished looking unit for those that don't DIY and uses 14650's.

The Riva you ordered is nice too. It's 3.7 ish volts.

No matter what you do it's a big win. 2.0 ohm atties/cartos and you'll vape up a storm.

Good luck.

Did you get the Riva lite bundle or the riva carto deluxe bundle? It matters cause the lite bundle has attys that you'll need to fill carts or drip and the carto deluxe has the boge 2.0 cartos that many of us love. You'll need juice too. I've got a bottle of caramel tobacco (use to be my daily vape before I discovered waffle) that needs someone to love it, um, I mean, vape it.. if you pm me an address I'll send you enough to last you a few weeks. :)

I got the lite bundle x) and that would be very much appreciated! Juice here is wayyyy overpriced because vaping is so unpopular.. $2 a ml :/ so ANYTHING you wanna send would be great :) I'll PM an address in a minute! I have juice of course, but not much since it costs so much at our store and I don't order online often because it's hard for me to pay :/. Prepaid debit cards FTW!
