Yeah ctourtelot, when I started (late 2010), there was so much more that was available that I didn't even know about. I remember V2, Safecig, njoy, Totallywicked, and Greensmoke. Through all my "research" I went with the Safecig. Back then I was a sucker for slick advertising that is akin to a Kevin Trudeau infomercial on ecigs.

The information was pretty heavy back then and when I saw all these names and thread types and such, I fell for the "all you have to do is" line. I will say, it sure was a lot simpler being ignorant, not as exciting and rewarding, but a hell of a lot simpler!

Oh, and I couldn't understand what that ECF thing was all about.

p.s. It is still somewhat hard for me to admit these things without embarassment:oops:

i have changed a lot in my short adventure vaping.
before i received my first pv, after i had done some research i decided that the ego-t was my ideal pv forever. i thought that once i had received it i wouldn't need any other pv again, and that 5 30ml bottles would last me months and months of worry free vaping. that was debunked when my atomizers died within 3 weeks and i found the overall system very frustrating and unimpressive.
afterward i was convinced that cartos with filler were evil or something. i couldn't get comfortable with the idea of a carto with filler, so i used vision clearomizers almost exclusively and thought they were the only way to vape. i entertained this delusion until i received 5 of them, 4 of which had problems making them unusable right away. anyone ever try using clearomizers in -30C weather? ya. this clearomizer phase lasted a couple months, and not much longer.
cartos with polyfill are infinitely cheaper, so i bought a pack of smoktech and boge cartos. i am now a self proclaimed carto girl for life.
last month i bought my first carto tank, which i find to be infinitely better. i now have a bottom feeder and a mechanical apv. i'm pretty sure i've found my stride with that set up, but it's still worlds apart from where i started. oh ya. i think i also average about 60-80ml/month these days, so 150 ml won't last for months and months as i originally had conceived.

Eight weeks ago today I thought the whole e-cig business was just another scam to separate people desperate to quit smoking from their money. That night I found ECF and did some reading, thought I might try it, I had tried a number of dumb things in the past to break a 40+ year habit what's the harm in another one.

Eight weeks ago tomorrow is when I bought my first PV.

Eight weeks ago on the next day is when I had my last cigarette.

I think my opinion changed a little bit. Vape On Brothers and Sisters!

Y have u stopped cinnamon Mr. Mann?

That wonderful sensation that I was getting, now seems to be somewhat off?! It doesn't feel like pleasure, more like stress in my chess.

The plastic issue has changed my mind as well as some other concerns...

I have only been vaping since December 2011 and already I can count two ways I've changed. I too started with Safe Cigs..that lasted about 2 months and I did something I thought I would never do..upgraded to a KGO YAY! And just a few days ago I made another big decision that I didn't think I would ever do..I bought Phoenix clearomizers. I watched a LOT of videos and read a LOT of posts here on ECF before I made my decision. I'm not real happy with the whole syringe thing..BUT :) It is a great vape for me anyway.

When I first started vaping..I was topping off. Cartridges every few minutes and charging batts every 30 minutes. I was trying different juices.

6 months later I was using an ego and dripping Tv waffle on attys.

6 months later I was trying cartos and wondering how to get them to last longer than a day or two before they started tasting yucky. I was using a 3.7 box mod and wondering how to get my voltage to stay consistant. I was still trying different juices.

Now I use caro tanks and diy my juice (very little flavoring) and a single carto lasts weeks. My provari lasts all day and my voltage stays consistent. I'm no linger interested in juice hunting...I mix unflavored and add a few drops of flavor here and there. I generally don't have any problems but if I do I can now quickly and easily figure out what's wrong and correct it.

Vaping is now finally easier than smoking ever was :)

there.

Out in the middle of Nowhere
I initially bought a Blu for my husband. I was trying to quit, and he wasen't. I got one for him to try, so there wouldn't be any cigs laying about the house and better for him. (NEVER saw myself as wanting to use an ecig lol!) They didn't 'take' with him and I went back to smoking.:( So I thought I'd just try it for myself and see. I had nothing to lose at this point. I started off with 0 nic...BIG mistake. Quickly went to 31 mgs and have since dropped back down to 0 now. But I went from a Blu to an eGo to a Provape-1 to a Provari. FINALLY!! found my piece of equipment! lol! I went from buying one order of prefilled cartos to one order of premade juice to DIY eliquid. I used cartos and even some dual cartos until I got the Provari. By the time I got that, I was tired of having to refill the cartos soo many times through the course of a day. Enter tanks! Love tanks! I'm presently trying to get from all plastic tanks to all glass tanks. I'm also going to glass bottles...so I'm still evolving I guess....but I'm close! lol!

Almost 2 years ago, I used atomizers. I hate them!!! Then I went to just cartomizers...still love them to this day. When the cartomizer tanks first hit the market, I believe was produced by vaporescence.com, I loved it even more. However, I have since gone to all phiniac tanks and did away with the poly. A huge improvement. Nice crisp clean taste with a glass tank at 6V.

What did you use to get rid of the poly? I am pretty much staying away from tanks because of the poly in the cartos. Want a phiniac....but don't want the cartomizer.

Five Phases of My Vaping Evolution; I think this is pretty standard.

1. Cold Turkey for three days. Didn't work for me.

2. Automatic Lookalikes from the mall for two weeks. Way overpriced, Charge lasted two hours tops. Worked better than nothing, but only just. Started buying crappy juice and cartos from the headshop. found e-cig forum...

3. 2 X Riva 510 batts with cartos for three months. Experiamenting with juices, blowing through five or six cartos a day. experimenting with various cartos Batts lasting longer, but still hauling my chargers around everywhere. Stopped thinking ProVari was such a stupid idea.

4. Provari with Cartos, Tanks, and Direct Drip (DD) Attys for two months. Found my favorite juice and juice wizards (thevaporroom). Messed around with several tank configs. Made my own tank. Attracted unwanted attention from cow-orkers with cappuccino machine like noises made by tank/carto setup. Noticed a preference for DDing (less noise, more vapor, attys last longer, juice seems to go further...) Settled in to Gingerbread as all-day vape. Tried an analog and wondered how I ever managed to put up with that.

5. DDing thevaporroom Gingerbread 30mg,50pb/50vg with Provari and Standard Resistance attys. 8 months and holding. Use Riva batts as back-ups. I still like the idea of tanks and fool around with them, I just wish they were as quiet, clean, and efficient as attys. Thinking about getting a second Provari for back-up because the Rivas don’t hold much of a charge anymore. Also thinking about getting a Riva kit for a friend who is interested in e-cigs.

Totally with you. I thought that a k-go was going to be a good back-up for my Provari, but it just sits there like a donut in a trunk, and who wants to drive around on a donut anyway? I am going to get another high-performance mod to back-up and stand with my Provari. In two months, I have only had to recharge my K-go one time.

Oh, and also with you on attys. I have spent probably 60-70 dollars trying out new attys and only have a couple left that are still good. Why not just get the ODYSSEUS REPAIRABLE ATOMISER for my favorite juice? More money up front is the way to go, unfortunately, we tend to only realize that after wasted money has fallen through the wholes in our pockets

Hello

I am only just starting week 3. Nope Im still having a tobacco 2-4 times a day. Which is a change from 15-20 (for 49 years)
The biggest change for me is the Dr. Pepper flavor I ordered on a whim. Im a good Texas boy who loves Dr Pepper so I thought why not. Mix a small batch (this is my first DIY try) 70/30 no nic and about 25% Dr. Pepper
I was blown away by the taste and the fact that I like it a lot. A little week so tried another small batch with highe Dr P and 90/10 , even nicer.
This was just yesterday and I am still amazed that at the moment I like the Dr. Pepper better than the tobacco juices.

Been at this over almost a year and still use the same juice I started with, Johnson Creek's Tennesee Cured. I won't use any cinnamon juices either after I saw what they did to some plastic atomizer pieces, don't want none of that happening to my lungs. I don't use any kind of CE2 cartos (ALL of 'em leaked or something was wrong) but I do use tanks now.

4 Years ago the pure smoker analog look alike lasted about a month, back to analogs for a year.
2 Years ago a 910 penstyle lasted for 3 months, back to analogs.
8 months ago a borrowed Chuck and Ego with attys and 35mg Frisco.
7 months ago a Provari/Big Daddy tank and Smoktek cartos. Yeah me I am still smoke free.

Tried 100's of different juices but nothing comes close to the Frisco (even an off batch).

Tried all of the Fluxo's, CE's, Stardusts, Visions and to me the all have a off taste where the cartos just have a muted flavor. Dripping in an atty is a pain. For now I am stickin' with the cartos in a tank. I am waiting for a rebuildable atty and an APV. Then trying to perfect my DIY skills so I can find something else to vape along with my Frisco.
