I've been thinking about this very thing for the last couple of days. I smoked for over 30 years and every time I even THOUGHT about quitting I would have a mini panic attack. I couldn't even make it through a 3 hour meeting without needing to get out for a smoke.

vaping is different for me. I got my first kit just before Christmas last year and by the end of January I wasn't even thinking about cigarettes. Now, I can make it through an entire softball game and not have to go out for a vape and meetings are a breeze.

I really enjoy vaping, the feel, the taste, the massive vapor compared to a cigarette. I have been thinking that I don't NEED to vape and there has been no weird panic attacks, no thinking "OMG, no nicotine?". I honestly think I could not vape if I wanted to. For now, I don't want to :)

I use an eGo Twist with a Vivi Nova.

How long can I see myself vaping? Probably until they pry my favored PV of the moment out of my cold dead fingers. I smoked for 43 years and thought I'd never be able to quit. I was a heavy chain-smoker. No one thought I could do it...family or friends. Least of all me! But in one week I'll have been smoke free and vaping exclusively for one and a half years. Who knew? I've been gradually weaning myself down with the nicotine (painlessly, too!) and am currently using 3.5mg. DIY menthol. Eventually I may make it on down to 0 nic. Or not. I'm not sure yet.

But I love my PVs...and I love the ACT of vaping ..even more than I "liked" the habit of smoking. I truly enjoy everything about it...the flavor, the vapor, admiring my PV-of-the-day, the comforting hand to mouth action. Just feeling warm and fuzzy about the whole thing!

Hey there fernandez9467,
I'm 58 and have been smoking since I was 10. Just started vaping a little over a month ago so I think I'll wait 48 years to decide. Yep, I like this. Haven't touched a cigarette in 33 days.

Smoked for 35+ years 2 PAD. I've been vaping for over two and a half years now :) Lost my addiction to nicotine a few months after I started vaping. Most of the time I vape 0 mg juice but once in a while I enjoy some 3 mg juice. For me its just like drinking coffee. I most often drink decaf, but sometimes I enjoy a cup or two of caffeinated coffee :)

I've been vaping with my Precise+ 18350 all day. Used my vivi nova during work hours and dripping since I got home :) I'm sitting here thinking about getting my Hogmod ready to take to work with me tomorrow. :)

I have no plans to quit. If it happens some day that's fine. If not, that's fine too :)

Goes the same for me. I don't see myself ever going out of 'Fog'. (yeah, am a massive vapor producer)

The enjoyment of all senses;
Watching Os floating away...
Scent of the perfumed mist...
Sizzling of the coils firing up...
A good drink in hand, a perfect day.

I honestly don't know how long I will vape. I used it to quit smoking and I haven't had a cigarette in a couple of weeks. I started with the 24 mg and quickly went down to 18. Now I am about to start on 12 mg.

I plan to progressively and as quickly as possible get down to zero nicotine. From there I'm not sure what I will do. I really liked smoking. I like vaping but it is so much more complicated than smoking was.

I have come to a crossroads in my life where all I really want to do is simplify. In the last ten months I have gotten a divorce, my ex husband took off and has essentially abandoned his kids, I was diagnosed with kidney disease, moved out to the country away from everything I am used to. In the process of doing that I lost or got rid of about two thirds of my stuff. And it felt good.

So now I am at this point where all I really want is ease and simplicity. Because of that I don't know whether I will continue vaping or not. I knew I didn't want my smoking problem to become a murdering problem so I went with vaping as my quit method, but if I cannot vape I don't feel murderous like I did with smoking.

I guess with this as well as so many other things in my life, it is all a big question mark.

I'd like to one day get down to 0 nic but I won't set a date for it to happen. I've wanted to quit smoking for a long time but couldn't do it for very long no matter what I tried. Vaping just hit the spot and I quit the minute I started. If I decide to quit vaping one day that's fine but if I vape to the grave I'm ok with that too.

triple bonus health points if i stop vaping. did not plan on quitting cigs, but here i am. i have cut my nic content in half from 36 to 16 to date. i really want to get all the misery over with already. 6 mg juice coming this week. once again just like the last time as soon as it arrives, cut my dosage by 10 Mg's. and seriously start shopping for the 0 nic juice that i am going to jump off the cliff for. i think it's great all this cool stuff, and it will always be close by if needed. but i don't want to trade 1 form of slavery for another. and i am starting to really believe the problem was always with the tobacco. i have so far been able to step down my dosage with no effort. the only ill effects i attribute to tobacco withdrawal. considering how i have been tested the last few weeks, i feel confident 0 nic in three weeks, and no vaper 2 weeks after that.

Unlike most of the folks here, probably not too long. I've been vaping since January after 18+ years of smoking a PAD. I've resisted upgrading my Ego-C Twist to a "better" set-up while I've learned to be somewhat proficient at mixing my own juices (saves money). With the lack of extensive medical research data in existence, I don't want to keep vaping indefinitely.
