Yep. We definitely agree on this. If it's not providing a benefit, then you don't need it. So far, it helps control my depression and ADD... Maybe I will be at 0 at some point, but as long as I get a benefit, I use it. :D

I am aware that nicotine is a valuable 'mood balancer', I have also heard of many 'ex smokers' (who dont vape either) who have developed or had increased digestive tract problems.

Went back to smoking for allot of reasons none of em really good but it happens. Its been a looong stressful few years for me. And ive always enjoyed smoking honestly. I didnt start vaping to quit the first time it just kind of happened. And Now I'm to the point where i just can't afford to smoke again. cigarettes are almost 9 a pack in washington they were only about 4 in colorado and im unemployed at the moment so back to vaping. Which i forgot how much i enjoyed lol. I just keep in mind not to force it and it becomes fairly easy now that im actually trying to quit this time

This..

I developed ulcerative colitis once I quit smoking a few years ago. I didn't quit nicotine. Somehow some of the thousands of ingredients in cigarettes kept my flare ups from coming up. Now I'm on asacol and entercort and I'm in a good place.

I didn't start vaping to quit nicotine. I started vaping because I didn't like what smoking was doing to me. Couldn't sleep, I'd wake up hacking up a lung, etc. etc. etc. But I enjoyed smoking. I started vaping to get rid of the nasty effects but still get my nicotine fix.

Now, I have slowly dropped the strength. I'm now at 4-6mg ejuice (I started at 24mg) and I'm happy with that. I really have no intention or desire to cut it out completely.

I switched to vaping because I was tired of smelling the way I did. It was embarrassing. I started with 18mg 3 years ago and now I mix my juices at 7mg... and that's BEFORE I add any flavoring (which is no more than 15%)

Do I plan to go down to 0%? I guess that all depends on the FDA and when/if they ban nic sales. I have a couple of 500ml bottles of 36 and 48mg nic in my freezer. I plan to buy another soon. If there comes a time that I can no longer buy nic online, then I will gradually use up the nic I have, while lowering the percentage until I get to 0% and it's all gone. I can buy cotton balls and wire to rebuild my rebuildables... I can buy batteries to power my devices... as long as Provape stays in business.. I'm set.

I plan on getting to 0 and quitting vaping. I just don't want to feel like I'm always having to carry around something to satisfy and addiction. It has absolutely nothing to do with the nic itself. I just want to be free of having to continually satisfy the desire. Plus I'm a bit of a tech geek and always want the latest and greatest which can get expensive, i.e. my MVP works great but the new VTR is calling my name now...

While my ultimate goal isn't necessarily to get to 0mg, I may get there sooner than I thought. I started 8 weeks ago at 18mg (at the recommendation of a local B&M employee) and over a short time I have let my body dictate the nic level I need to be at, which is currently 9mg. I'm guessing dropping this fast isn't the "norm", but rather I think I just started way too high. Right now, 8 weeks into vaping AND off analogs( I quit analogs the same day I started vaping), 9mg is working for me. Time will tell for the rest of my journey. I'll tackle whether or not to continue vaping when/if I reach 0mg when/if I get there.

doesnt sound unusual to me.. I went from 18 to 9 in a month, and down from there to 6 in 3 months. Haven't been able to lower it from there past 4 for more than a week, but I like testing myself

It may seem that I've stepped it down a bit quicker than most, however as Visus mentioned equipment is likely the key. I'm on a mech/Kayfun lite @ 1.3ohms. .The 24mg was just hitting me too damn hard. Also as CommaHolly mentioned, I don't want to feel like I HAVE to vape either.

Orb Skewer: .Love the Goldscxxxger anaology!

permafrying: As Allen Carr said, "Quit feeding the monster."

donnah: badass.

boomhower1820: Exacly what I was thinking when I started this thread.

Evidently there are some anomalies when it comes to vaping. However, it is becoming increasingly clear to me that many of us are very much alike..
Anyway, like I mentioned earlier, I started 12mg's today.....well, I am vaping more then when on a higher nic. However, I believe it's just another hump untill I get acclimated.

I'm just happy to be smoke free after many failed attempts. I'm still real new to vaping, so it's pointless to worry about it at this point. I smoked for 40+ years and never let the fifty-eleven chemicals bother me so now that I'm vaping.... nicotine is not a real concern for me right now. I just love what I am doing and hope I still fell the same way when I wake up later.:)
