As mentioned in my first post I bought the V2 standard kit 2 weeks ago and received it a week ago. I love it and vaping so far, especially trying new flavors! My question is...

What did you start with?

How long until you upgraded?

What did you upgrade to?

I started with V2 ecigs one year ago. It took me about 3 months to get a VoltXL from smokeless image. Then I got a twist. After 7 months i was trying all kinds of tube mods. They were too big and imo looked like a phallic symbol LOL.

So i started buying different box mods. Now a year later I have decided that bottom feeders are the best box mods and indeed for me the only mod I want to use for my vaping pleasure.

keep on vaping

I finally got a leg healed up and needed to quit smoking to help circulation down there sooo....1/2/2013 Found a smoke shop closeby to ask some questions and walked out with a $15 China made e-cig kit (analog size) - it was like sucking air through a straw!! (yuk) no tobacco flavor nor was it 'menthol' as labeled. Traveled from Olympic Pen. in Washington down to Phoenix, AZ and my first vaping store - Zikwid - purchased a JoyeTech Ego/Ego-T set and some juice - then needed needles to fill the cartomizers. A month later I was tired of re-charging the batteries every few hours and found another e-cig store Vapor Vortex across Phoenix (brand new store!!) Chris was great answering ?s and I purchased 2 - 650 mAh twist batteries (variable voltage) and some sample size juices. We went back there in March and April for more supplies (juice, empty bottles to mix in, and some clearomizers). I have upgraded by adding some MT3 Kanger tanks and (gone back to) non-rebuildable clearomizers (they last me longer without breaking-in my pocket). So, now? I'm using my 4 - 650 vv batteries with the MT3 tanks and clearomizers and find them satisfactory - for my needs. The twist bats last me 1-2 full days (one of them we'd topped off a couple times only lasts about 6 hrs max now). I like both the tanks and clearomizers but would like something shorter that fit in a little purse like thing that holds pens (when out on our 4-wheeler all day in the desert). Had 2 clearomizers break on me from being in my jeans pocket - opps :) but, so far I'm thrilled with my progress off analogs and able to vape in our rv and in the truck cab, etc. (always smoked outside everywhere! and that got real old up in Wash. thru the winter :( !!! ) I have soooo enjoyed reading how everyone else has progressed along their own paths in this journey!! kudos to you all for sticking with it until you find your dream setup!! Don't quit learning! and sharing! k? lol :toast:

My first ecig was a disposable blu from Walgreens ( no good, but it was a learning experience ), a couple days later I went to the Volcano kiosk at the mall( I'm stationed in Hawaii)

I ended up purchasing a Volcano Magma kit (analog size batts) with a drip tip. a good flavor and strong hits but my batteries were always dying and driving with your knees while dripping is no bueno.

After a few months I upgraded to a used Volcano Inferno with a carto tube tank (ego twist size) everybody has them here (that or the Lavatube) after dripping I couldn't get used to the carto taste so I went and bought some cheap plastic analog size clearomizers from the kiosk( only ones they offer) and a shiny new cone to protect my juice tube.

I found myself wishing i had a tank that could hold more juice and a battery that packed more punch and lasted longer. I had no idea that there was so much on the market. All i was aware of was Blu and Volcano. I was sitting at a smoke area here on base (schofield , I'm active army) And I met another vaper who had something i had never seen.. a ego with a hard plastic clearo. So i went and consulted the oracle (also known as google)

Since then i have been combing the web learning as much as i can, exploring all the different vendors and drooling over vapeporn. Recently I stumbled upon this awesome forum and I am awaiting my Provari mini silver that I should be picking up tomorrow. Starting out with a Kanger Protank with plans to upgrade to a Zen atty for Provari when I can afford it. Only juice I've been vapeing is Volcano which is pretty good.

I started June 20 2012. I went into Vape Revolution and started out with an ego twist. At the time it was one of the best ones besides the provari with variable voltages. Me and my Bf were 1 pack a week smokers (that's 2x! so expensive). 2 weeks later my bf went in and bought a provari. I stuck with my twist for awhile (it does the job). Now we're heavy into mods. I have a Nemesis+Ithika & he has a chi with various attys.

It has changed my life. I knew I wanted to contribute & help others quit. We were the first ones in our group of friends that starting vaping. Now most of our friends were smokers are now vapers! :) I started making my own eJuice & doing pretty well with that.

Started withe Joye 510, then got some "Mega" batteries for it, then got a couple Egos (smallest and biggest).
I'd invested in the 510's and cartos for it, so I like that it's all interchangeable and will probably stick with the Ego, but I'm already moving from cartos to clearomizers - some little ones (Vision Nano) that I can even use on the 510 batts.
And this is all over a period of maybe 2 months vaping. I like my gizmos, lol.

WHAT I HAVEN'T FOUND - if anyone knows of one - a "cone" for my ego that will just taper down to standard 510 carto size. The ones I see have an insert for an atomizer that's far too narrow to allow it to go over a boge carto, for instance. I got one of the "shorty" things, but that just barely reaches from the Ego threads to the carto body - I'd like a longer cone, but sort of "hollow"...

Started in January of 2011 with a Blu. That didn't last any more than a month or two and only helped me cut back on cigarettes, tremendously, but I was still having some cigarettes.
Went back to cigarettes.
Towards the end of the year I was on the Magma with the drip tips. It was essentially the same as the Blu and only help me cut back. I did enjoy it all along. I just always wished it could hold more everything (power, juice).
Then I smoked cigarettes again until February when I was introduced to the Ego-C Twist that my girlfriend was just starting to use to quit her habit. I tried it and liked it and pursued a set up for myself.
Since February 14th I've been vaping. I recently picked up a spinner 1300mah battery that I like more than the c twists. They're wider and make larger tanks look less weird ontop. So right now I'm using that battery which lasts almost all day, but I carry 3-4 egos with me along with other parts in a case. They're good to have charged up and ready to go if I'm ever in a bind. I was using the Kanger Pro Tank which was probably my favorite tank. I broke it about a week ago and picked up a new one. The new one wound up not being connected to the bottom piece where you screw it in, you could pull the mouth piece and glass tube right off. So I'm waiting for that to be back in stock so I can exchange it. But in the mean time I'm use a 3.5ml BCC tank. I like it a lot, but I prefer the protank. In the course of the 3 months that I've been vaping. I've used probably a total of 6 different kinds of tanks. Only a couple I feel are the essential ones. One for strong stuff, one for sweeter stuff.
