I started off with an njoy Npro. I quit the same day I got it. I fell off the wagon back in May, but my old favorite brand (Camel Ultra Lights), tasted so disgusting I threw the pack away after a few puffs. I still have a craving now and then, but then I remember that nasty taste and move on. Just keep trying. If you're using a VK, you have the best e-cig there is IMO. Remember, even if you're smoking less than you did, that's a step in the right direction. Best of luck to you.

I used to smoke 10-15 analogs/day. My first day vaping, I had 2, second day 1 and that was my last in the pack. I decided not to buy any more to see how it would go.That was it! I am amazed by how easy it has been. I have had some fierce cravings, but, have been able to vape them away, usually with a higher nic cart. It really helped not having analogs in the house.
Just take it slow and do what feels right for you. Just cutting back on analogs is fantastic!

How long did it take you to say 'buhbye' to smoking and go strictly to 'vaping'?

I ask because I am still struggling...

Don't feel badly! It varies from person to person. I myself vaped for about 2 weeks only smoking 3 or 4 a day - down from a pack a day. Then I realized that I was forcing myself to smoke those 3 or 4 a day to finish up the last of the carton I had bought! lol I finally just tossed them and have been smoke free for almost a month! 16 seems to do it for me, but I think some people need the higher nic at first to get off the cigs. I have tried some 24s and wow - very satisfying. Also, it helps to find a flavor you like. For me it is capuccino and coffee flavors for all day vaping. I find those very satisfying!

Some have been vaping and smoking for quite some time, and at least that brings down the amount of cigs they are smoking, right? Meanwhile try to find those flavors that you really enjoy. If you are using auto batteries, you might want to try the manual - I find the throat hit is a bit better with the manuals but that might just be me.

We are all here for you - some find it easy, some struggle with it a bit but we can do it! Hang in there! ;)

I got my first e-cig while I was still on the road a lot. At first I just used it mainly for while I was in all non-smoking hotels, etc. for the first few weeks. I don't remember specifically how long it was, but after several weeks I just found myself enjoying my e-cig as compared to my regular cigs.

After that I had a couple of cravings, but regular ciggies were just to nasty to handle and that was it for me. 2 years later I'm still vaping with no problems. My wife and I both vape now and are very happy with it.

I would not pressure yourself into it. Or get you some high mg carts / juice for those occasions if you prefer. You'll get off of them eventually no problemo. :D

Take care,
- Hap

I smoked for 40 years a pack and a half per day. I have not picked up an analog since I took my first vape. I think you ordered mostly 16mg...right? And you smoked for what...almost 30 years? You might want to order some 24mg carts..that is what I started with and still am using but plan to cut down to 16mg on my next order. Don't worry...I am sure you will be off the analogs before you know it.:)

Oh, BTW - once I switched to Nhaler.com's High Voltage French Vanilla Coffee, i never touched an analog again!! :D

When I was using the 510, dripping Drew's liquids on the attys was the only thing that kept me off the cigs! Good guy too! I refilled a VK carto with the HV French Vanilla Coffee and it was great!

You definately have to find that special flavor, that's for sure! Kristin, you would love V4L's capuccino! It is awesome! And the coffee - my faves! Some things never change! lol And my offer still stands - you don't love the VK, and I will send you the equivilant in 510 supplies! ;)

It took me about a month to wean myself off of the analogs and then for about another week I just had to light one....didn't smoke it but had to light it for some reason. I still have some around...just in case.... and feel better knowing that. If I toss them, I think I would go into panic mode and buy some just to have on hand. Hard to lose a 40 year habit. Just take your time..it will happen. Find a flavor you really like and up the nic if you feel you need more. That helps me when a craving sets in. I usually use 18mg and when I get that craving, I add a couple of drops of 24. That does it for me and I am fine. Hang in there..it will happen!!! :)

Ok that sounds Realllllly good. Off to make another order. GAH you folks are creating a monster over here.

BTW - I didn't smoke analogs after I received my first PV which was the 510. I lit one a couple of days later and put it out after 1 puff, just tasted bad.

Currently Vaping: Cappuccino

Same day for me, about three months ago. Planned it that way. If I don't have any analogs around the house or work but I do have an e-cig, I'm not going to go through nicotine withdrawal. Still amazed the plan worked when so many other previous strategies didn't.

I realize this might be hard to do if there was a group at work who go out to smoke at breaks.

Last night went to a bar that (illegally) allows smoking, specifically so I could have one analog. God! It tasted really dirty and stale. Like the five cent packs of cigs in 3rd world countries did before Marlboro was available everywhere. After 43 years as a smoker, I can't imagine going back. Oh! and the poor guy who was nice enough to give me one paid the barmaid $8 for a pack before he left.

What flavor are you using? I found that using tobacco flavors made me crave the real thing. Once I switched to all of the awesome alternate flavors available, I didn't miss analogs anymore!

You may have hit it on the nail with this. I also found that I both didn't enjoy the tobacco flavored ones as much as I thought I would and, as long as I was using them, the cig craving hung in there big time. Really give those other flavors a try and see what happens! I still break down and have one a day or so but, as others have said ... this isn't a competition. There are no penalities and sooner or later, you will have it beat. I find that the 555 and Grape are fantastic for me in the 24 mg. Have pineapple on order and am going to order the raspberry pretty quick as well. Hang in there. Just remember - you are doing great even just by cutting down significantly on the cigs!!!

I am still workign on it myself PeggyR! Won't be long, try not to pressure yourself The more I vape the worse and worse the analogs are tasteing that Seems to help me! Eventually I will feel confident enough to just not buy them and therefore won't pick one up because it just isn't here:) If you need any help let me know and good luck!

Bump up your nic level a bit. Fisher the pineapple is wonderful. Took me a week. I started with the 11mg and that wasn't enough. I bumped up to 18mg and also got a 24mg and that hit the spot.

The 24s I am going to have on hand for those times when I really need something stronger... 16 seems perfect during the day... 6 or 8 seems perfect at night... 24 seems perfect while drinking! ;)

I smoked for 40 years 1 to 1-1/2 packs a day.

I bought my first VP (NJoy NCig) and immediately cut down on the analogs, without any real intent to do so, at that time. One night, about a week later, I went to open a new pack and couldn't find any. "Oh well, don't need 'em while I've got my e-cig."

Three days later, mere minutes before leaving to visit my daughter, I found two packs. I threw one pack and my lighter in the glovebox of my truck, 'just in case'.

It's now 22 days later and both of those packs are still unopened... one at home, the other in the glovebox. They're sort of like my tropies! I like looking at them and enjoying the fact that they don't own me any more.
