How long did you lurk before registering?

I lurked for about 3 or 4 months. I was driven away at first from registering because most of the threads I'd read on my first few visits were full of rude (along the lines of direct personal insults) and petulantly argumentative posts, definitely not the sort of community I wanted to be a part of . . .

but I kept coming back because I was looking for information and my Googling kept leading me back here. Not only did I usually find the info I wanted, but I realized that what I'd seen on my first few visits to ECF was certainly not the norm! So I joined up and have been hanging out here since

I don't believe in lurking I was in IT for over 20 years before I retired. When I find a good source for information I'm looking for I jump on it! If it turns out that I don't like it, I can always delete my account

I was so inexperienced i did not know how to lurk- i was hit with something like you have to sign in to read!? So i did & noticed i have made over 100 dumb posts, no matter i am happy to be here.

It took me about that long to realize that the ECF was a place where I could ask Newbie questions and not get slammed by the vets.

I'm glad after my time here that that is something that has never changed.

I stumbled upon ECF when I was first researching ecigs, and I ran away scared. Information overload. Ended up on the Blu's website and fell for their bs. After a month of fiddling and cursing at the Blu I came back and jumped right in!

I lurked for a few days before registering. Then a couple more days before first post. I have to agree with the earlier post that said... "I got a good feeling from the posts that I saw that people here were helpful, respectful, have great sense of humor and it's around the clock."
