How long do e-liquids last?

I tried to give up smoking last year and bought a bunch of e-liquid. For various reasons vaping didn't work out for me at the time.

Now I'm back again. I've bought the right vaping kit this time but I still have a lot of liquid left over from the last time I tried to give up. I reckon some of it might be a year old or so. Do you think it is still good to vape? It has been kept in a cool, reasonably dark area so should have been stored well.

It would be a shame to have to throw it all away and start again as I probably have 500ml or so of liquid sitting around the house (yeah I went a bit crazy when buying liquid the last time - won't be doing that again).

Hello and welcome! I'm sure you ejuice is just fine as long as it taste good to you. :)

Eliquids don't spoil, but the nicotine might degrade some and sometimes flavorings can change the taste after sitting a long time, but after only a year really isn't that long.

Excellent. Thanks for the reply. That is good because then I'll be able to get vaping straightaway when my new kit arrives. Glad I don't have to waste all that liquid. That would annoy me no end.

Just make sure you shake them real good as they have been sitting for a while. Hope you have success this time around.

Juice should be fine. First 2 or 3 you are going to try, take cap off and let them breath a few hours. Will help reduce to some of the possible harshness from sitting unused.

Good to know, I wouldn't have thought of letting it breathe, but it absolutely makes sense!

Depending on what is in the e-Liquid in terms of flavoring and the quality of the nicotine along with how much air is in the bottle has played a role in what I have aged for extended periods of time. Some have turned so dark I am sure it will wreck the coils to others that are years old but never opened and look exactly the same. Too many variables in my opinion to give a definitive answer.
