How long do I wait to change thread/coil in e-cig

Hi all!

Quick question... How long am I supposed to wait until replacing the thread/coil in my e-cig? I vape casually throughout the week, but I'm not constantly puffing away. In fact, I can go a few days without vaping, so I figured I don't have to change it too often.

Thank you!

Hey Mashad

Depending on your model, I've heard of even a simple Vape Magic pen atomizer lasting a guy 6 months, I use a variety of different ones daily but find they all have about a month life span for me, the wicking material always gets burnt after that point. Just swap it out when you start to feel a burnt taste or the vapor production has significantly dropped, it is a consumable part, but if you take care of them you can get quite a bit of life from them.

Not sure if we're talking about rebuilds? I do 28 gauge s.s. with cotton wick. Once the coil gets that carbon (bad spark plug look) to it, I pull the wick out. Then toothbrush it with Iso. Do a quick burn off which leave a dried up residue. Dry toothbrush that. Now I have a new shiny coil. Re-wick and back in business. Sounds like a bother, but really only takes about 1 minute. I have 2 Kraken's built single coil at .8 ohms I've done this clean to 3 times.

As long as your juice flavor and vapor production are good, there is no reason to change/clean your atomizer.
Having missed out on a burnt hit is rare, but when you experience one you'll know it. Burnt hits are the result of a dry or under saturated wick or applying too high a voltage/wattage to the coil.
Dark juice is the result of aging and/or the atomizer (coil and wick) releasing particles of burnt juice back into the tank. Over time this will effect the flavor of the juice. The more you top off your tank (add juice) the darker your juice will become.

Off a Kayfun Lite running a dual coil @ 1.0 ohm on an iTaste SVD...
