How long do you keep cartomizers?

Hi,

My question isn't so much about how many times you can refill a carto.
My problem is that I switch juices often, and after a couple of days I may want to go back to one. But sometimes I can see (when I use clear carto's) that the insides of the carto have become dark and nasty from just laying around for a day of two without using it.

The clear ones are easy to clean (just take it apart, unfold the filler, wash the parts with water, reassemble), but with the other ones it's harder to see if they're nasty, and they're also harder to clean. So I throw them out often, but I think I could be saving some money here...

Note that I often forget to put the condoms on them, so maybe remembering to do that might help a lot. Or what about storing them in the fridge?

I just can't manage to stick to one juice for very long. I guess it would be a lot easier if I finally found that all day vape

I myself switch through the flavors offten and I vaped a carto that sat for 2 months just toped it with alittle fresh liquid and it tasted fine.

I normally top off before dry hits. But when I do notice a dry hit, I'll blow out the carto and at times will get that darker bottom juice. In fact when I do that, the carto seems to have a better flav and longer life.

As to having a carto sit for a while, I notice no diff.

So no one is concerned about bacteria forming inside the carto after a few days?
I read that nicotine kills bacteria though, so it might not be something I should worry about. I'm just a little mysophobic sometimes...

I usually toss them out after a week of use. They start developing a little burnt flavor that makes it not taste as good as fresh. I don't clean them since it's a waste of time. For the price, it's no biggie if it has lasted that long already.

during the day I switch flavors about 3 times or 4. What I do is I have 3 cartos with me with diferent juice and an atomizer with a bottle of my favorite vape. the 3 cartos I dispose of them about every 3 weeks max od 4 weeks, the atomizer I dipose when it dies. Hope is helpfull.

I've been using tanks home made and bought so the cartos are staying plenty wet it seems that 2 weeks of everyday use is about their limit for me then they start tasting burnt so I toss them since they only cost me a dollar a carto I feel I got my dollars worth

I think carto life varies alot by brand and type. The longest I've gotten without having the clean or anything is about a week and a half from a Dual Coil XL 510 from Ikenvape. But then I had other XL DCC's from AVE that didn't last nearly as long. Different juices start to taste gross sooner than others as well.

I read alot about people boiling them to clean and all that but all I do is run them in hot water and blow them out a few times until the water runs clear...then blow as much as I can out. Then stick a piece of tissue in the top to absorb any extra and let them sit for a day or two. It works fine! I don't have any juices that are too hard to get the taste out...I vape Boba's, Gorilla Juice, Vermillion River Maplewood, and a million different things from BWB and all of them are very easy to clean out of a carto.

I have enough cartos that I generally only reuse a carto three or four times a month. They get flushed out with iso-alcohol about once a month. I never put the condoms back on until it's time to refill them.

I still have about half a dozen cartos in use that I bought last year.

I have only tossed 3 out of the 20 I had due to loss of vapor production. I took apart two to try to understand how they work, and ruined 1 by trying to vape a juice that I knew was going to be bad and couldn't get the taste out. I haven't had them to long, (2 1/2 weeks maybe) but I have let them soak in vodka overnight once, and let them dry for 24 hours and they are all working good as new.
