Good question and it made me really examine my vaping times. I had not given this a thought - I just 'vaped' or so I imagine.
The "in the hand" is my next "habit" to break. I vape like heck from 0500 to 1100 with my .... planted at the computer which is yet another "bad habit" to break.
I do have one T3S that is loaded with 3.6% and I use it when I first get up. I use it a LOT in that first 30 to 60 minutes; I WANT that 'kick in the head' like cigarettes gave me. Then - after the first 30-60 minutes I switch to 1.8% and the day is set.
The rest of the 'day'
if I don't have it "in my hand" I can go three hours or more and not think of it - UNLESS I get in a stress situation OR one where I am trying to figure out an issue of some sort. I always "chain smoked" when trying to work through an issue. I do find myself going and grabbing my setup when this happens and I'll go non-stop or until the issue is resolved.
EVENING HOURS: After dinner 1800 to 1900 - I always went to the garage and smoked at least two cigarettes. Then back in the house and the 'TV' viewing began. I did not smoke unless I needed to "get out of the chair"; yet, I DO find myself vaping perhaps as much as 5 - 10 minutes at a time and usually three times while the 'TV' viewing. It is that "in my hand" thing again.
OVERALL: More vaping before noon. Noon to 'TV Time' it is either very little OR a LOT depending on the circumstances mentioned above. I also find I DO NOT enjoy it while watching 'TV' - perhaps because I only took "garage breaks" with the cigarettes. I would be content to NOT VAPE while the 'TV' is blaring away with nonsense - and may try just avoiding it as the 'urge' comes to me.
Being a 'new guy' I still have many '
cigarette moments' where I have the thought about "going to the garage" for a REAL cigarette. The moments pass and I am OK - much like when I was 'on' cigarettes and never gave them a second thought - but when I DID - I smoked two at a time (in a row - not fired-up "at a time".
When I was still "in the Navy" - it was always a stress breaker to smoke. I also ENJOYED the darn things and in a group of guys who were just waiting to go 'do our job' and blow-up someone / something the cigarette was like foreplay. Still after-discharge I seldom smoked as many times as I now vape - especially the mornings.
I don't LIKE vaping nearly as much as I did a cigarette - BUT if it keeps me away from the real-deal I would have NO problem if it was "in my hand" all day long.
Too many words to answer such a simple question.
