I echo this exactly.

DIY is a great money-saver. 100mL of 24mg cotton candy for less than $5.00!

$44-ish bucks can nab you 50 cartos (can easily last 6 mos, more if using tanks and moderate voltages)

I've stuck to non-twist ego-t2 upgrade batteries (which is really hard nowadays with the vari-power mods), a set of 3-4 ($60 total) could easily get you thru a year, maybe longer.

Replaceable head vivi-novas/CE4s are inexpensive in the long run with only coils to replace.

But the toys... oh the toys!!!!

Where do you get your supplies with those prices??

Good luck with dat. :D

:p IT WILL HAPPEN. I've made it 16 days without placing an order anywhere. What's another 6? I haven't decided what I'll buy as my "happy break even date" present ;)

I have, however, developed an unhealthy addiction to the contests area. It doesn't count as spending if you win it :D

How has that affected anything as of today? Did prices go up when they started looking into the regulations? I'm only a month or two into this.

No. Some folks are stockpiling, hoarding if you will, preparing for a worst case scenario should the FDA do something... let's say "not vaper friendly."

I didn't switch to save money but it was a definate plus. I spent $300 a month on analogs so I broke even in about 4 months. That was for all my batteries, mods, delivery devices and juice to last approx a year. Now I just do impulse buys but could technically not buy anything for at least 1 year. Not even juice. So at this point I am about $1800 to the good.

I am about 300 dollars in because of different circumstances, but now have 25 bottles of 20 or 30 ml juice plus more batteries and tanks then I know what to do with so my break even should come soon with not much more investment after that, still costs me less then my video games (I am overstocked on them too) Totally worth it just for the fun and exploration, when you smoke stinkies your choices are very limited.

I have reached the break even point several times - then find just one more juice delivery device I have to try (EVOD) or just one more battery (mini eGo). I am on self inflicted restrictions now until the end of the month. I actually have more than enough now for awhile - with backups for my backups. I just have to quit giving into something that looks like fun to try.

Smoking RYO, I only spent around $43.50 per month on tubes and tobacco. Considering how much I've spent on batteries, a pv, accessories, and supplies for DIY vaping, it's going to take me 2 years and around 2 weeks to break even, and that's if I don't buy anything else between now and then. I'm sincerely hoping that I can majorly cut that cost. Of course, I've bought things that I probably shouldn't have, and bought in bulk with some items such as PG, VG, and nicotine. I'm pretty sure those will last a couple years. The nicotine is broken down into amber glass bottles and in the freezer now. The PG and VG both have 2 year expiration dates. I have wick and coil coming to rebuild my clearomizers, so that shouldn't require any more spending for a while.

I think I'm pretty much set for quite a while now. The only thing I should have to buy is maybe more tobacco flavors. I bought some from Seedman's, but am afraid to use them. If I like TFA's Double RY4 as much as everyone else seems to, I may need to buy more of that.

It's a good thing I'm doing this more to quit smoking in the long run than to acquire a new hobby.

Where do you get your supplies with those prices??

I get 100mg nic from wizard labs, usually the 250mL or 500mL. Cost is high up-front, but diluted down even to 24-25mg levels returns 1-4 Litres of base, much more if you roll at 6, 12mg, etc.

My standby is always circus cotton candy. I usually have 3-4 flavors in rotation at any given time, one of them is always CCC. OnestopDIYshop has 30mL for $5.29, which will flavor about 300ml of base (more or less) at 10%.

Some VG from walgreens/walmart: 600mL bottle for $6.00 in my area.

I also have walgreens order me 500mL PG bottles for 8.98, will last me 6+ mos.

$44-ish (just checked, $45 with free shipping) at surevapes.com for 50 Boge cartos. You can mix-n-match 5-pack boxes, SR/LR black and stainless cartos.

several vendors have 650mAh genuine ego-T2 Upgrade batteries for $13-15, I was most recently looking at stormysvaporcellar and liberty-flights, prices comparable.

My current go-to on CE4 (I prefer the smok redux) is Hoosierecigs. Replacement heads are $1.89 each, and the clearo itself is $4.99. Once I mastered how to consistently get a good re-coil done on these heads, I haven't had to purchase more past the first fifteen.

It sounds alot like "preppers" getting their bunker ready for the revolution, but in reality it is just prudent planning, and ALOT of will-power to not purchase any crazy-fun-new mods! :)

Careful with that seedman stuff, it is *POTENT*.

I picked up some commercial, basic, and basic cigarette a while back. A little goes a very long way. Steeping also goes a very long way when using these flavors.

Since beginning vaping in September, I have now saved over $400. I don't know how much per day vaping is costing me. Everything is on a spreadsheet. I broke even a couple of months ago. I just placed a juice order and hadn't ordered anything before that since January 16th according to my spreadsheet. My how time flies. ;)

I try to time it so my order arrives close to a Friday delivery day since I always bought a carton on a Friday when I smoked. I get to offset the cost of the order with the cost of what I would've spent on those cigs. :D

Realistically, we spent more on smoking than just cigs. There was the lighters we always had to replace due to using them up, friends taking them or just losing. Then the ashtrays we bought and cigarette cases etc... So if you could figure out those expenses too we would be even further ahead. Hmmmm I might just take off the nova heads from the spreadsheet since it woul basically replace the lighter purchases. Nah, I'll keep it as is.....for now. ;)
