how long to charge

I have read all sorts of conflicting ideas on how long to charge my battery.....the little instruction manual that came with my Joye says at least one hour even if the light is green while some people say that once it is green, disconnect.......just wondering what the general consensus is.....thanks in advance

From what i gather the Lithium batteries do not have a memory like the old Ni batteries. Most people say that once the light is green they are good to go. Although with all batteries as time goes on performance drops and they will need to be replaced. Luckly that doesn't happen too often

I have charged them longer when charging them for the first time but after that I just charge them until the light turns green.

Iv'e gotten good performance from all my batteries, 18650,cr123A'a,eGo's,510's and 901's by just charging them till the green light goes on. Others may disagree, but when you need a battery, you NEED a battery

I throw new batteries on the charger overnight; after that, it's good to go when it's green. So I'm with Col. Gaunt on this one.

This may seem slightly off topic, but how about the USB passthru? I ordered one as I spend way too much time in front of the PC but have read little about them.
Do they have a finite "life" as well, or is it basically a wired "passthru" with no storage at all? Can I expect that it's "sealed" like the manuals and safe for dripping?
I also figured I would be less likely to use a less than charged battery on my first vape due to lack of patience!

I doubt it would do any harm to the battery.

As for the pass-through, I believe there are two types; those with a battery in the cable, and those without. Either way, dripping should be fine as long as the unit wasn't put together with paper maché.

What type of PT did you get?

There are 2 different kinds: one with an inline battery that puts out around 3.7 volts, and one without the inline battery that puts out around 5 volts.

If you got the 5 volt one DON"T use it on your computer or you may damage the USB port or the motherboard. The computer's USB port only outputs a max of 500 mAh (.5 Amps) and the 5 volt PT needs around 2000 mAh (2 Amps). You'll need an AC to USB Adapter/Charger to use that one.

If you got the one WITH the inline battery then you can use the computer's USB port because the port will only charge the inline battery. The battery itself will power the PV.

The manual I got with the joye 510 said to charge them at least 8 hrs for the first few times. I did and whether it helped or not, they are still going strong after 8 weeks.
