How long to steep

Hola guys and gals,

Back on...1/20 I believe or close to it I ordered Butter Rum TV style. I had received a gift of it at xmas and loved it...needed more. Anyway I tried the one I bought and it tastes...off to me. So I let it sit until today so close to 3 weeks and still its off. I still have a lil of the gift and its color is darker and the flavoring is different so I ask,

How long is the perfect time to steep?

What did the original bottle you got taste like, to you, and what does the new one taste like? I just got some too and it doesn't taste right to me. I know of at least one other person who has said the same thing. I asked Geoff if the recipe had changed and he said that it had not, so I'm not sure what's goin on Would like to hear others opinions, if anybody else has recently purchased this flavor.

Honestly I cant really describe, it tastes as though its there just the new one seems to be lacking something which to me is making it unvapable I dont know why...maybe I'll try them both at the same time to see if I can figure out what its missing. But yes I emailed Geoff and got the same response, kinda funny we both emailed and asked the SAME exact thing haha!

But yes I loved *love since I still have some * the butter rum I had and that was from back in xmas time maybe a tad before, the one I got in january....I can say I totally dislike.

I just put some of my newest bottle of b. Rum it smells the same but seems to be missing the rum punch it used to have. Geoff are you nipping the bottle of rum? It's so odd cause I can smell it I just can't taste it!

Yes exactly smells 100% the same just missing something...maybe I should try my steeping bottle of geoffs blend, I think that has butter rum in it....glad im not the only one experiencing the missing something in butter rum....now I wont feel bad if I have to pour it down the toilet lol

Exactly! I'm wondering if their flavor supplier did something different with the alcohol flavorings(and neglected to inform Geoff) because the same thing happened to me with Amaretto Stone Sour. Smells awesome, but is clearly lacking the amaretto liquour.

Well...to me it is, its hard to describe why. Now dont get me wrong I'm not reflecting this on the company, just this one bottle of juice But maybe someone would enjoy it i'll let it hit 1 month, if no change then I'll see my options

I'd like to try and "fix" mine before giving up on it. Anyone know how to add rum flavoring (adding the real stuff isn't an option for me)?

I just picked up some McCormick's imitation rum extract,while at the food store today. IDK if it'll work, but it's worth a shot, right?

hmm i got my butter rum just 3 days ago. and it taste dead on... not sure if maybe you guys got a bad batch?

yeah i dont think so, hehe there are no 'batches' since the mix team mixes fresh each order

I had never tasted the Butter Rum until I got a bottle maybe a month ago. It smells yummy but relative to my other TV juices it doesn't have that much of a presence. That's quite different than how others have described it in the past so I was surprised. I add a couple drops here and there to other juices but other than that it I haven't consumed much at all.

yeah I already poured mine in the trash, I miss the way it used to taste and not sure what changed since the recipe is the same...but I couldnt take it so the fishes are getting high off the nicotine content lol
