St. Johns wort is said to be a mild SSRI that may help slightly. I have never taken the stuff so IDK.

If the depression lasts for more than a couple weeks or is more than just mild depression I would strongly recommend you see your doctor. If you have a history of depression I would go right away.

I had a little blue funk for a couple weeks when I stopped smoking but it was mild so I just dealt with it.

Quitting smoking is hard-very hard. It takes a while to transition from smoking to ecigs in the sense of mentally putting your hands around it. In my case the first few days I almost felt paralyzed for lack of a better word, the mere thought of putting a load of clothes in the washer felt overwhelming. What I did was obsessively read the benefits of quitting over and over and it helped me stay in the fight. Within a few days I dicovered how vaping worked for me and came here everyday (still do) for tips and guidance. If you feel you can't get out of it please talk to your doctor, they are always very happy when a patient is quitting smoking and will be able to help you through.

Best of luck.

From what I understand, analogs have properties similar to MAOIs. I know that before I quit analogs, when I was smoking them very infrequently, I would get depressed when I smoked. Since switching to vaping, I don't have that problem anymore.

I guess for some people that might need an anti-depressant, analogs might help. For those who don't, (such as my personal experience), the opposite might be true.
