How many Amps does your Lavatube chews up a day?

My Lavatube Lambo chews up 2-3A a day at 3.7V vaping. That's a lot compared to basic step down VVs I have that take half of that at same vaping Voltage. So I've been trying to figure out where is the current loss since the circuit stays cool. I can only theorize that the boost creates power surges every time it makes high Voltage spike just like when for example light bulb or a motor gets turned on. The initial spike is always high. Any thoughts on this?
