I had 2 batteries for 45 days or so. Charged 2 to 3 times a day each.
Another battery only for a week. Charged about 10 times.

I would be interesting to know who had their batteries for longer, not in time but time and charges. They say you can charge batteries for 300 to 400 times which on my personal opinion is way overated. I dont think they last over 150 charges at all.

well i got 4 batteries for my dura wich i use in an almost scientifically rotated manner .... think their around 4 maybey 5 months old now and they work hard .. there is almost always one on charge either in my pcc or in the usb charger ... think the charge holding properties of them might be falling a bit but not much

The VX2 batteries I bought a month ago both failed this weekend. I am not a heavy smoker. Charge them overnight, so say maybe 60 charges. I am looking for something a little longer than that.

Get a M401. I have 3 attys and 4 batteries (Intellicig EVO) in use since 14 weeks now. They still perform like in the first days. I did just break in a new cig these days.
I cannot notice any difference, exept the new one is black and the older three are white. :D

All batteries are not created equal. I have been using 2 of the 510 batteries for 5 months now with little difference in performance. The 510, Dura, Yeti, Titan etc are made by Joyetech and this company seems to use good batteries. Other companies seem to use cheaper batteries as I have had 103s and 4081s that quit in 30 days. These are the only ones I can speak about. Although they will sometimes get a bad batch so it's really just a crap shoot. Always have spares, don't expect one to last as they can just die.

For the small, looks like the real thing batteries, 200 charges is about the most you can expect. So three times a day would equal about 65 days, etc. Performance (length of charge) will start to diminish the more you recharge it. On the batteries that cost $2 for PV's such as the Screwdriver, Prodigy, etc., they can be recharged 1000-2000 times before needing replaced as long as they are good from the beginning (according to the manufacturer). So that would be about 600 days (max) compared to 65 days. In reality, however, I think the batteries for the Prodigy, etc can be recharged and still function well about 600-700 times or 3-4 times better than the cigarette size batteries.

weird this how long a battery lasts.. when we used to smoke 901s a long time back when new they they had a run time of two hours.. after just one weeks use this was down to one hour... after two week use they were knackered and not fit for use.. so i would say 50 901 batteries per year for us.. or two every couple of weeks..

lost of folks fool themselves by having twenty e cigs and never really using any of them.. my findings are based on three family (heavy) users and based over a six months period.. they are correct..

what kind of miracle spells folks cast over theirs i have no idea... but i do know how long ours used to live for..

one pair used every day.. pretty simple.. i have some a year old but only cos i have never used them.. they last a long time when you dont use them.. he he..

trog

ps... copy and paste charge/recharge cycles are based on ideal usage.. a small e cig battery is abused each time a puff is taken which is why they dont live long.. pretty much like a car battery fitted to truck would not live long..

the interesting thing is why this isnt common knowledge.. it should be by now if people were honest.. but then again if people were honest would so may e cigs get sold.. probably not..

Good points. Trog know more than the rest of us about batteries.

I probably should have noted that the 510 batteries I have used for 5 months get charged just once per day and are used lightly. I sometimes get 6 hours from one by just taking a puff every now and then.
Use does have a lot to do with life, like Trog has said. I have some DX mod batteries and beat these up every day (use at home) and they play out pretty quick under heavy vaping.

Regardless of how long they last, I bought a few for backup and I don't vape alot at all while at work as there's too much risk of dropping it from various heights, but when I'm at home I vape like a fiend so that's why I got a passthru to solve that problem, to reduce the charges/day down to 1. Some find the passthru's useless I think they're worth their weight in gold. They'll potentially lengthen the life of your batteries.

each charge/discharge cycle the battery goes thru it loses a little of it capacity.. the run time gets less with each cycle..

now the copy and paste stuff about how many cycles before they are ready for replacing is for batteries that are used for a suitable purpose.. truck battery in a truck as an example..

part of the life time figures are.. when the capacity of the battery get down to 80% of its new capacity its ready to be replaced..

now believe it or not.. this would mean the average e cig battery used as a pair by a relatively heavy user would be considered worn out after less than a week..

some startling figures for sure.. again i ask why isnt this common knowledge..

a few reasons.. the "enthusiast" nature of the posters on this place.. they own lots of different e cig and this hides it... the other factor is those who sell them dont go out of their way to make such bad news known..

ether way what should be common knowledge isnt.. atomizers aint the real e cig problem.. batteries are.. they always have been..

for good trouble free e smoking with something like a 901.. a medium/heavy user needs to budget for one new starter kits every two weeks on average..

i dont count wires.. but they will help save the e cig battery.. folks call bigger battery e cigs "mods" but in my book hooking one up to a bloody wire cable is definitely a mod... it certainly aint part of the original plan.. he he..

trog .. your quite an amusing and informative fellow ... i'm contemplating buying a screwdriver just because of it .... but i've vowed never to spend more than 50 pound an an e cig ... plus i keep buying toys but always end up going back to my good old dura ...

its all been said before chief many times... i used to inhabit this place way way before we made our own e smoking device..

some things just dont want to stick... he he he

ruyan first made e cigs as a tobacco smoking aid.. something for smokers to use when out dining or where real fags might offend..

ruyan made it clear they were never intended to replace cigarettes.. just something to be used when needed for social acceptance reasons.. a rich mans toy... $25 dollars per pack of five carts..

so whats happened.. somehow folks have got the idea that e cigs are made to replace a full time tobacco habit.. occasional light use has turned into full time heavy use..

i wonder where they got this idea from... he he he

trog

ps.. and the ruyan e cigs had bigger and better batteries than the ones we now use... he he

Thanks trog100.

Thats what I wanted to hear. I guess more people should be aware of this and stores should push factories to improve this.

I recommended ecigs to 2 or 3 friends. They are all ...... like hell because their batteries died after a month.

Im not sure if they made this on purpose from China so you buy regular batteries or if they really are not willing to improve their batteries, but eventually someone will come out with an ecig that works just like cell phones do.

I want to mention that when I plug the bats into my laptop usb charger they still charge and light. But you cannot puff from then anymore. They dont turn on anymore. I suppose the switch is what died in my batteries.
