4-5, glad to hear I'm not alone... good thread. People at work think I'm nuts. This forum is just my new thing, I always have something (video games, scanning photos to digital, reorganizing my mp3s, etc). Honestly, I just like my "me" time. Everyone else is in bed. :)

EXACTLY..... without my ME time I would freakin LOSE it !!!!!! I can be dead tired and still stay up past everyone else so I can get some damn aloneeeeee time!

I have Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome. I cannot fall asleep at a normal time without medication for it. I generally finally get to sleep around 4-5am. Since I have to sleep on my couch in the living room because of my injuries, it all depends on how quiet everyone is as to how long I get to sleep. I usually get 3-4 hours and have little naps thru the day to keep me going. And no, the naps don't cause me to not be able to go to sleep at a regular time. I've had it since I was a young child.

The part of the brain that is supposed to **** down so you can sleep is also the part that is kept awake when you have chronic pain so you don't really get a restful night's sleep. At least that is what they told me at the sleep clinic I went to. I have chronic pain also,

I'd never heard of that before, DSPS. Now you have me wondering. I've never been able to sleep before 1-2 am, regardless of how long I've been up. I may need to talk to my doctor about this.

it varies every night... work nights I get anywhere from 3-6 hours a night. One night I could get 3 hours of sleep and be fine, then I could sleep 6 hours and feel like crap, then get 3 again and feel like crap. On weekends I get whatever I want anywhere from 6-12 hours depending on the situation of that current day and the time I went to bed at night.

I have come to the conclusion it's now how much sleep you get it's the kind of sleep you get. If you wake up in the middle of the REM stage you're probably not going to feel as rested as if you wake up after it.

whats this sleep thing your all on about???

It's the new hot thing that everyone is doing. It usually makes you have an intense crazy trip. This "Sleep" stuff will make you trip harder then shrooms. It also knocks you unconscious like a bottle of vodka, and then when it's over (or when you're done "sleeping" as the kids are calling it) you feel energized and ready to tackle the day like you're on a mild dose of adderall or something. It seems that Sleep has become an epidemic though, with billions of people across the globe "sleeping" daily - including the elderly and children as young as infants. There are only a few of us strong souls left that don't cave in to Sleep like the others have. We must make it through these dark times without caving in so that we might have a chance to intervene and get former sleep addicts to start to say "NO" to Sleep. It is estimated that "sleepers" waste 1/3 of their life because of Sleep, and thousands of automobile accidents have been attributed to Sleep. Stay Strong friend!
